Comments about Julbo Colorado Glacier Glasses:
I bought these Colorados only because REI stopped making their own superb store brand of glacier glasses that fit me perfectly and have much better flex-plastic temples. The shape of the lenses is ergonomically incorrect as it does not conform to the natural cone of vision and "nasal notch" that aviator glasses are designed to match. I would recommend them to someone who is not my friend.

Comments about Julbo Colorado Glacier Glasses:
Bought my Colorados because at 40+thousand feet with a solid undercast, the light reflection from below is intense. The fit nicely and don't make you look like a fool in public either! Being a pilot and flying at high altitudes, I've tried many different glasses and none even come close to these!

Comments about Julbo Colorado Glacier Glasses:
I bought this product for my Denali/McKinley-ascent this May, and it was the product recommended for glacier travelling and strong lights. However, I'm really glad I bought another pair of Julbo glasses (pilot-style..) as a contingency pair, because these didn't work once. They fogged up immediately and were totally useless when breathing. And once wiped off the fog/humidity, the glasses seemed to have been ruined. So that was it; they just didn't work and cannot be used together with even a small amount of physical strainout. So please, try these out before you decide to take them, as all equipment on an expedition is critical, on a longer trip.

Comments about Julbo Colorado Glacier Glasses:
These offer good protection from the sun and are of rugged construction. The lenses are not glass so they will scratch rather easily. The frame locks well to your ears but is uncomfortable - it hurts a bit after some wear. However, when you are climbing you feel more pain in other areas of your body so the ears are of minor concern.

Comments about Julbo Colorado Glacier Glasses:
I like these for both mountaineering use as well as ice climbing. They provide good protection from glare and I really haven't had any issues with light getting in from around the frame. The provided blinders on sides do a great job of blocking wind and light. The size of the lens gives full coverage from top to bottom of my eyes. The contrast really helps on the snow and gives good definition. My only complaint is fogging, but honestly I will get that with just about any glass or goggle after a lot of exertion. Still, fogging is minimal and does clear rather quickly. The provided case gives good protection in my pack.

Comments about Julbo Colorado Glacier Glasses:
Great glasses, great price! I have owned Colorado's for 8 years or so and am on my second pair. They stand the test of time, julbo even replaced a pair for free! Now that's good customer service. They do tend to scratch a bit, but hey, most glasses do. I highly recommend these glasses...have used them in the white mountains, to the high sierras, to snowbird and Nepal.

Comments about Julbo Colorado Glacier Glasses:
I bought a pair about 8 months ago specifically for backpacking above timberline and for backcountry skiing. They performed perfectly. They fit well and provided the desired level of protection. I did not need & did not use the leather side flaps. Unfortunately, I lost them (which is why I don't buy expensive sunglasses). I just bought a replacement pair. Because they are plastic, you must be careful not to scratch them. I suppose you can get more durable plastic for a higher price.

Comments about Julbo Colorado Glacier Glasses:
I have had these glasses for 4 years and they have held up very well. I love that they wrap around my ears so they feel secure especially when on the water.

Comments about Julbo Colorado Glacier Glasses:
I bought these at my local REI store. I used them in Nepal for glacier and snow travel. They performed perfectly! At this price you can not go wrong with these glacier glasses. Just snug them up to your face and you will have no complaints. Kept them in the supplied clamshell case and they did not get scratched or damaged. They made it for 45 days on mountain and through the worst of airports and survived for another adventure!

Comments about Julbo Colorado Glacier Glasses:
I have very particular requirements for sunglasses and these are the only pair that have ever fulfilled all of them. I have a big head, long eyelashes, and photic sneeze reflex. Most glasses either don't fit my head, sit too close to my face and rub up against my eyelashes, or don't provide enough wraparound light protection. These glasses do the job. They're inexpensive enough that I don't mind replacing them every few years when I lose or break them.
