REI Members get back an estimated $ 4.00 on this item as part of their annual member refund.

    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

        Comments about MSR Titan Cup:

Get a pair of these to use with the Titan two-pot set, and you've got a great lightweight kitchen for two. For solo use, this is a nice-to-have, but not necessary, item - especially if you're using a Titan Kettle.

If you have a Titan Kettle, you can brew beverages and drink them directly from the Kettle. However, if you're also using the Kettle to cook in, this is a nice addition if you want a hot beverage to accompany the meal. Normally, I eat a cold breakfast, so I brew a pot of tea in the kettle; supper is freeze-dried food "cooked" in its bag, so it's easy to use the Kettle for another pot of tea. (If I cook in the Kettle, I drink water instead of tea.)

However, if I want oatmeal for breakfast, or if I want to eat from the Kettle and have a hot beverage at the same time, the Mug is a nice little luxury to have. It nests nicely inside the Kettle for travel. It's a nice size for morning oatmeal, freeing the Kettle up for a pot of tea. It's also just right for making up one packet of instant cocoa (the Kettle is a bit large for that; the water is too shallow to easily stir.)

You can also boil water in the Mug, if the Kettle is otherwise occupied. (This works with the Pocket Rocket; on other stoves, the supports may be too wide to properly support it.)

It's easy to clean, with no little nooks or crannies to catch dirt.
