    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

by fromGood design - poor quality I thought these would be a good insulator for the Nalgene bottles, but they must be stitched too tightly, because when we put the bottles into the totes, they ripped (2 out of 3) or started to rip (the 3rd one) the fabric around the side stitching.

by fromNot quite right This "fancy bottle holder" is better left on the store shelves. It fits very poorle arouns the top of the bottle, taking the bottle out is a chore. The only good think about this is [*] water bottle fit well.I would not recommend this to anyone but a casual walker.

by fromlacks durability bought this tote to replace an outdoor research bottle sleeve i had for many years. used the Nalgene sleeve to hold a one liter bottle on my pack's hip belt during a six day bacpack in BWCAW. noticed the neoprene began tearing at the corners where attached to the belt webbing loop on day two. not the durability and quality i have expected from Nalgene.

by fromToo small Unnecessarily tight, it's difficult to remove the bottle from the sleeve. If that's not an issue then it's fine.

by fromGood Insulation for a Price These things are really useful if you have a lot of nalgenes and can just leave it on one and designate it as your thermos. They do work, and a nalgene of hot cocoa or tea will stay warm for a long time. I've taken them up Mt. Rainier and Granite Peak. Some pros: made of neoprene so they don't waterlog which is nice given you're apt to spill at some point. Not bulky aside from the extra weight. Some cons: About as much as another nalgene. The attachment loop is plastic rather than nylon like an older one I have. The plastic will eventually break. One last caveat. If you are doing a lot of backcountry in the winter, or big mountains, get a fully insulated carrier with a top.

by fromThe Good, the bad and the ugly Nalgene could do a much better job at designing this. I use mine several times a week to keep a beverage cold for hours so I'm not complaining about the insulating abilities. My chief complaint however is that the top most stitches come undone giving it the appearance that it will be falling apart soon which of course it should not.

by fromNot very good for below freezing temps So I used this when camping in temperatures around 5-15 degrees. I was hoping it would help me keep the water drinkable and to test it out, I brought a pair of nalgenes which sat in the drink pockets on either side of my pack, one with this cover and one without. I can say that yes it does help slow freezing, but it won't prevent it. While the goal is to keep the water inside the bottle liquidy, one of the problems is that the cap will freeze shut, even with the bottle upside down. Once the cap is frozen on (from water droplets being on the threads between the cap and the bottle), you're basically out of luck. You can try and unscrew the cap, but it's tough going, especially with the neoprene case on as it trying to unscrew the cap makes the bottle spin inside the case. Also when water spills on the cinch straps, they freeze and get crusty which makes it that much harder to free the bottle and get it out. If you're camping in the winter, you'll likely still need more than this to keep your water warm/liquidy. This definitely isn't a magic pill if you're looking to keep your water drinkable in the winter.

by fromTote This tote did not work for me as I was hoping while backpacking. Because the tote fits so snugly around the bottle, it is difficult to slip in and out of the tote, really takes two hands. It would have been nice if it was just slightly larger.
