Comments about Gregory Petit Dru Pro Pack - Women's:
I have owned this pack for over seven years now and it looks like it just jumped off the shelf (and yes smarty-pants, I have used it-a lot!) I bought it because I didn't know any better-I wanted the best and I had dad's credit card. While this pack is awesome-it handles heavy loads like a hoss and is built like a tank-the price is a little offsetting and whew, it's heavy! Don't be discouraged however, you do truely get what you pay for-a fantastically designed pack (you can access the insides either through the top or through the front,)and all the bells and whistles (just be aware that the little things like bells and whistles add up to extra weight. I would recommend removing the lid to shave some weight off, maybe cut down a few straps (they are extremely long.) Uhh, don't cut the straps until you have it fully adjusted and don't get too excited and lop off something you need (not that I have ever done that...) Seriously, unless you have a lot of extra cash to blow and you're a guide in the Andes, this pack is slightly overkill. One other note-if you are thinking of thru-hiking, check out some of Gregory's lighter stuff (the Z-pack is awesome!) Great company, great product, tough pack, tough price.
