      Comments about Coleman Globe - Dual Fuel 229 Lantern:

      These globes for the 229 and similar model single mantle Coleman stoves are not easy to find. You can order them, but you cannot find them at most camping stores even if they have a good variety of Coleman lantern globes.

      Thus, get your spare now. About half of all the Coleman stoves eventually need new globes - proof is in the fact that nearly every camping store carries spare globes for the more common two mantle lanterns.

      These newer globes are far inferior to the globes of yesteryear. These are not tempered glass and they are not Pyrex like the old globes. They are brittle, thin glass made in China. Until a couple of years ago, Coleman had their globes made in Germany - no more. So, if you have your lantern going at night and it rains on your lantern, the glass globe will shatter - as mine did. That didn't happen to the old-school globes, but it happens to the new globes.

      Bottom line is that unless you will probably neeed a spare Coleman globe for your single mantle lantern and they are not easy to find, so get yours now.
