Comments about Continental Ultra Sport Tire - Multiple Sizes:
The tread on these tires is a very soft rubber that picks up glass like crazy. I normally ride a little 10-mile loop and I was pulling 2-3 glass shards out of the front tire after each ride. On average the front would flat every 100 miles. At 300 miles either a piece of glass or a small stone broke the fabric belt and the tire immediately deformed bad enough that I had to replace it.
My rear tire fared a bit better, but by 600 miles the tread was well worn and the tire started flatting. I don't believe you'd be able to get more than 1k miles out of one of these tires on the rear.
For what it's worth, I replaced these tires with Michelin Speedium 2's, which I've been much happier with.

Comments about Continental Ultra Sport Tire - Multiple Sizes:
I bought the 700x28 Conti Ultra Sport because my 700x23 Vittoria Zaffiro tires preformed very poorly in the rain. The Ultra Sport tires did great in the rain but I would get a flat every day with them. Installing tire liners kept me from getting a single flat afterwards. The tires are very soft and get glass embedded in them and rocks easily tear small holes in the tread. They lasted 6 months before the many small holes tore into a large hole making the tire useless. Considering the price of the tire, it isn't surprising they only lasted 6 months.

Comments about Continental Ultra Sport Tire - Multiple Sizes:
Bought these in size 700 x 28 to replace 700 x 32 Panaracer Urban Maxes that kept popping off my new rims. I've read reviews that said these are difficult to mount. Aside from pinching a tube, I had no problem getting the bead on the rim using normal methods and a Quickstik, and unlike the tires they replaced, these staid put when I pumped them to pressure. I worried they wouldn't be as comfortable as the bigger tires but I was dead wrong. Tirewall says inflate to 115 lbs but the label says recommended pressure is 80 lbs. At 80 lbs these were really smooth, very supple and even more comfortable than the old 32s. I've only ridden them a few times so I can't really comment on durability. However, I went 18 miles on a rough gravel trail yesterday and these held up just fine. I couldn't be happier with them.

Comments about Continental Ultra Sport Tire - Multiple Sizes:
I've used the 700x28c version as a front tire for hundreds of commuting miles. This tire picks up large amounts of glass and sharp rocks, big and small, with the big fairly quickly working through the rubber and casing to the tube. I've never had this happen to a front tire before, so this tire is a disappointment. It also takes a long time to pull all the shards out to prevent flats if you want to do that.

These came stock on my road bike and man were they awful. Even my 190g race tires were more puncture resistant. I flatted 4 or 5 times in just a few hundred miles then ditched these things. I just ordered a winter bike/commuter and these things come stock, I'm already looking around for replacements so I can just sell these things on [@]brand new.

Comments about Continental Ultra Sport Tire - Multiple Sizes:
I bought these to replace worn out tires on my beater road bike -- 20 year-old Trek aluminum. With 700 miles I can give a fair assessment. First, understand that I'm a scrawny runner type -- male, 130 lbs, 5'8". If you are heavy, expect different results from this or any tire.
The Continental Ultra Sport 700c-25 is wearing slowly for me. Looks like I'll get at least 1000 miles -- maybe more. After 700 miles of suburban Boston riding I have not had any punctures. Since this is my beater, it goes out in gritty fall and winter, in rain, occasional black ice, autumn leaves, broken glass, and slaloms around other junk in the road to the best of my ability. One object tore a slit in the sidewall, but this did not result in a flat. A sensible person probably would have replaced the tire, but I stuck some duct tape on the inside and have continued riding. That was 600 miles ago.
Strongest thing about these is cornering. They may be great at stopping, but my antiquated Trek/Suntour components make it hard to tell. I'm always confident except on sandy, gritty stuff, and the tires have never let me down. Wet pavement is a bit different story, but I ride this bike and these tires for saddle time, not speed. So in wet weather I slow down.
Summary: Unlike other reviewers I'm finding these durable, not at all puncture prone, and nice handling. I'd call them a nice average tire at a very reasonable price.

These came on my Surly Pacer and were great for about 3 months. I commute as well as ride recreationaly so I do put some miles on a bike. After that they seemed to pick rocks and would puncture very easily. They simply wore out. I replaced them with the Serafas Secca tire. Hopefully those will last longer.

Comments about Continental Ultra Sport Tire - Multiple Sizes:
These tires came stock on my bike. They performed well at first, but I noticed that they wore down fast. The price of these tires are consistent with the quality. I replaced these with Gatorskins and noticed a significant improvement in rolling resistance. I put the Conti Ultra Sport tires on my old bike to ride on the trainer, but they didn't last long. 30 minutes on a trainer finished off the life of the tire.

I average 2.5 miles one way to work and school, haven't really had a problem with them. I'm using the 700x28C, downsizing from a pair of WTB cyclocross tires as my commute now has more asphalt than grass. Haven't had a problem with punctures, I run them at 100 PSI and ride quality is ok.
