Comments about Mountain House Ice Cream Sandwich:
My nine year old says the texture of the cookie is like a Graham Cracker with a good chocolate flavor. The ice cream tastes like ice cream, but the texture is like a whopper (malted milk ball)and melts in your mouth. Its a sweet treat with enough calories for a complete snack. Great for kids and I liked it too. The wife still won't try it.

Comments about Mountain House Ice Cream Sandwich:
I loved it. Sure it has the texture of styrofoam but what do you expect for one of the lightest in weight treats you can find. I felt that it realy did taste very much like the real thing.

I wanted to try this product before a backpacking trip. The texture bothered me at first, but it's a freeze-dried product, so it's expected. The taste was pretty good.

Comments about Mountain House Ice Cream Sandwich:
I tied this before I was going to backpack with my 8 year old daughter - she loves ice cream. "This doesn't taste like ice cream; even if you imagine it's cold it doesn't". After she told me that, it was my turn to try. Beside the fact that it looks like a stale piece of meringue it also tastes like it. I can also imagine that if you transport this in your pack for more than a few hours in rough terrain, all you will find inside the pouch is broken pieces and crumbs.

Comments about Mountain House Ice Cream Sandwich:
I bought this "dessert" and I wasn't sure what to think of "dehydrated ice cream." It's one of those weird things, like fried ice cream.
I gave it a shot and I have to tell you, it's the most disgusting "dessert" I have ever had the misfortune to try. It tastes and feels like cardboard. Not sure if there's really any way to improve this odd product.

Comments about Mountain House Ice Cream Sandwich:
I bought one and ate it in my kitchen for a snack. That's not really a fair test. A real test is to try it on the trail in the wild. So I'll write another review once I've done that. I love Carnation ice cream sandwiches and this looks, feels, and tastes like one. Tastes pretty good, but the sensation of eating it is very strange. The packaging weighs more than the sammich...this is a cool snack, but I think I'm more likely to pack an Almond Joy, or maybe M&Ms.

Comments about Mountain House Ice Cream Sandwich:
If you don't like freeze dried ice cream don't buy this item. We love them!! I would recommend breaking off small chunks and let them melt in your mouth. If you like the feeling of biting chalk then go ahead and eat it like a real ice cream sandwich.
