ok, I don't want this stuff to sell out, but neither do i like that it's sitting here with 1 star from someone who hated it.

Did you ever buy "astronaut ice cream" as a kid from the museum? Well, this is the same thing. It's wonderful, creamy, and reminiscent of the honeycomb-like candy bars that they have outside of the US. If you expect ice cream, well it won't be that - it's more like a creamy candy thing. And I agree that the ice cream bars are pretty nasty, but this stuff I think is quite lovely as a sweet dessert or snack.

It's hard when you bite into it and at first there's no taste. Then it combines with your saliva and gets all creamy. It's not cold, of course. It's a great, zero prep dessert. It's an experience. Recommended.

Okay...the thing with this dessert is that there are many alternatives. Desserts don't take up too much weight nor bag space so I don't see much reason for eating this. Some people like the taste, I am not one of them.

First of all, I think it is too sweet and dry. This makes it taste very creamy and sticky. Second, it makes you thirsty after you eat it. Third, it just tastes like a sugar cube.

It tastes like Neapolitan ice cream, its light weight, it's a great snack for 2 people and its neat to eat. If you eat a lot of it you can start tasting the powdered milk taste and you will get thirsty. But come on do you really expect dehydrated ice cream to be cold and creamy.

I am getting prepared for my first backpacking trip ever. So I have been experimenting with freeze dried food. I don't want to be up in the woods and have picked something out I won't eat. This was my first experiance with freeze dried. It was a weird texture for me. It made me feel like I was eating chalk but it was good chalk. I could only eat a few bites as I was still getting used to the chalk like texture. I do know this will be in my backpack as it really wasn't that bad. It tasted like icecream just not cold.

If you're looking for ice cream, you're looking in the wrong place. The freeze-dried Neapolitan is our absolute favorite treat. It's crunchy at first, then light and fluffy. It melts in your mouth and is a nice sweet when you're looking for a light load.

I wasn't expecting much, and was pleasantly surprised! Once in your mouth, it starts to melt and gets nice and creamy with good flavor and not too sweet. Tastes exactly like real neopolitan ice cream except not cold. It's a bit crumbly after hiking around all day, but no big deal. Not a filler, but just a nice treat. Enjoy!

This is an OK dessert. I don't really care for the strawberry portion of this; however the rest is good tasting freeze dried ice cream. There is the Styrofoam texture that some can not get used to and it crumbles upon traveling; however, even the crumbs are good (minus the strawberry part).
