Tried for sometime to find something that didn't have such a sweet taste for hydration while cycling. Cytomax fits the bill. Nutrients plus good taste for the longer rides is great.

I've used Cytomax for over 10 years for electrolyte replacement, energy, and endurance during active sports. Because of Cytomax I've been able to backpack to tops of 14-ers, hike and bike in heat of AZ, play competitive sports. Because it keeps the electrolytes in balance, it is good for heart health and also prevents cramps. It tastes good, is low-glycemic so there isn't a sugar-high/low, and it quenches the thirst better than just water. I have recommended it to friends who all have thanked me after they tried it. I've tried other brands and they don't perform like Cytomax does.

I use it for long rides (especially in summer) and distance running (>8-10 miles). Like the taste (I go with citrus and orange), which doesn't seem as sweet as many other drinks. I think this is because it has fewer carbs per serving than others. (Since I always have gels, I don't need the carbs from my drink.)
It is balanced between sodium and potassium, while other drinks are much higher in sodium. As salt is never my problem but shortfall in potassium/magnesium is, I really value this balance. (Probably saves me 1-2 charlie horses per month.)
It can harden a little in the jar because it is sensitive to humidity, but never to the point where I couldn't get my scoop filled. (I always mix it with a little hot water to get it into solution before filling my bottle with cold water and ice -- trick I learned from a pro friend who always does it.) As for the size of the jar, yes it's big, but that is because they use the same jar for different size purchases (it's not a rip off; they must get a better price on the large jars from their supplier).

I heard the powder was difficult to mix with water, so I always fill my bottle halfway full with water and a few ice cubes, put the mix in, shake it, then fill the rest of the way. Never had a problems with clumping. Cytomax tastes good and doesn't leave my mouth feeling coated or make me want to spit like other sport drinks.

This stuff taste strong! So make sure that's what you want! It was for me, Need something strong and with a bit of a (sugary) bite to it. It gives you a little boost and is filled with the standard nutritional goodies. Useful post workouts or perhaps during.

I've tried a lot of drinks, gels, bars in the past while doing bike/run biathlons before choosing CytoMax. I like the taste when diluted. But, probably because of the sugar content, it dries up like a rock in the can if you don't finish it up quickly. I tend to go through the can more slowly because I dilute it by about half. So, I agree with another reviewer--that a smaller can would be ideal. I'm switching back to the single-serve (a double for me) packets because I get tired of digging it out of the can with an ice pick.

While I admit the original container leads you to believe that you are getting more than you really do, a lot of commercial packaging does that. The recommended amount to mix with water really is to sweet. Cut down the amount and it tastes good AND is palatable without gagging me while I am running. I like the grape flavor.

I opened the 24 oz. canister and it was half full. What a rip off. Mixed 1 scoop with 16 oz. of water as instructed - man is this stuff sweet. Hard to drink. I could dilute it more, but then I wonder if it would work as advertised. Try the GU20 drink instead.
