If your bear mace is not accessible in a moments notice it'll do you no good. It's best to attach this thing to the front strap of your pack or around your waist.

I wish this product had a vertical attachment strap so it could be attached to a shoulder strap. It does have horizontal strap so it can be put on hip strap of a pack or regular pants belt. It also needs a snap system so it can be taken off and pack and put on a belt or vice versa, quickly and easily. It could even use a clip so you could slide it over waist band in a pinch. It's limiting strap system is why it may get left behind, when the bruin shows up!
