I feel I need to comment here, to at least give a different opinion to all the 5 star reviews already presented. IMO, the cons of these firestarters are many:
1. While I do keep them in a Ziploc bag, they crumble apart and basically turn into a big mess in the bag. If you use them only to light your fireplace at home, then you may not have to worry, but if you're packing them on the trail - not so good.
2. They don't light easily - I think holding a match to a dry log would light faster.
3. They're very bulky.

Bottom line, don't waste your money. If you like the store-bought solution for starting fires, fire paste works much better. If you like the DIY solution, cotton balls impregnated with petroleum jelly work very well, as do fire starters made from wax and dryer lint poured in a cardboard egg container. I've used/made the above 3 alternatives, and ALL of them are far superior to this product. Pair them with a flint rod and striker and you're good to go.
The crumbled mess that remains of these things will be going in the trash.

i use these with my esbit cookset, instead of the esbit fuel tabs.
one nugget will burn about 10-15 min, same as esbit.
unlike the fuel tabs, there non-toxic and dont leave a sticky residue.
only downsides... the nuggets dont pack as easy and can be a little crumbly.

I packed these for a recent extended camping trip, where the entire time I was on national or state park grounds where I couldn't gather any kindling-- but every time I started a fire, one of these little nuggets got it going the first time, every time. I will definitely be bringing these on all future camping trips. The convenience is so worth it.

These work great if you're in damp conditions with wet wood, or you're just feeling a bit lazy and don't want to work as hard to get a fire going.

One piece burns for close to 15 minutes, so you can really get that fire burning even if its wet. A great resource, and good price.

These nuggets are great for getting your fire started, especially when its cold, or your wood is damp. You dont need any newspapers, just some small/medium sticks. They are easy to light, and stay lit long enough to get the bigger stuff lit. I bring them on every trip and I love them!!!

I took this product on a recent kayaking trip. It works great! Our wood was damp from a recent rain, it was a low 30s night, and we threw a couple of these crazy nuggets into the bottom of our smoldering stack of sticks and they got the fire going. They lasted quite a while, and boosted the fire like none other! Very easy to use. It only took a match or two to light. They are crushable so you don't have to use the whole nugget. It only takes two to light a campfire and there's twelve in a pack!I would totally use this product again for sure!
