Comments about Coleman Adjustable 2-Mantle Lantern:
Forget about electric lamps they simply don't have the output of a gas lamp. The white gas lasts a long time and this lamp works great from winter camping to moab bike trips. I recommend getting the flint sparker accessory so you don't have to deal with matches or a lighter. It has worked for years and I've never had to replace the flint yet.

Comments about Coleman Adjustable 2-Mantle Lantern:
I purchased one back in the early 80's. So far, only the mantles needed replacing. White gas is easy to find, and throws a brilliant white light.
Any time I car camp, this light comes along.
For car camping, there is none better.

I've been using this lattern model for over 25 years now. The thing is dependable. I installed a flint starter and it works great. One tank of gas lasts many hours.

Comments about Coleman Adjustable 2-Mantle Lantern:
The Coleman lantern design hasn't changed in 50 years. Any why should it? They perfected the design and no one's been able to come up with anything to beat it. The simple easy to use lantern will last you a lifetime with proper care. I was given the Propane version, but swapped it for the liquid fuel type to match my Coleman stove, so I wouldn't have to tote around two fuel types. I assembled the thing in the headlights of my car in about 10 minutes, and the lantern was good to go. My only gripe is that the lantern can get so bright, you're likely to attract all the bugs in the state of MO, but that's no fault of Coleman...

Comments about Coleman Adjustable 2-Mantle Lantern:
This lantern worked great. When we got to our campsite it was already getting dark. The first thing we did was get the lantern up and running. It took a few minutes to get the fuel in, burn the mantles, and then get the mantles lit with the fuel running. Tip, get some long matches before you go camping. We had to use a stick to get the flame inside of the lantern to light the mantles. Great amount of light, great lantern. We will see about the durability. I've only heard good things about the Coleman brand. They are a bit expensive, but I hope we get what we paid for. So far so good! 3 nights of at least 5 hours of light each night.

Comments about Coleman Adjustable 2-Mantle Lantern:
Great Product!! Solid construction, with a nice sturdy base. Lights up easily and lights up a large area.
With the unit being a little bit on the heavy side, for backpacking, we used it primarily for carcamping. But for small hikes to your campsite it works just as nice.

Comments about Coleman Adjustable 2-Mantle Lantern:
I got two of these and put them in one of the wooden army double lantern crates. The crate even has a center compartment to hold things like spare mantles. These lanterns are very easy to light, large fuel tank allows for long run time. The two mantles will put out plenty of light. Even though I have two, I rarely need both on at the same time.

Comments about Coleman Adjustable 2-Mantle Lantern:
This lantern is easy to light and bright enough to eat dinner by. I have banged mine around quite a bit, and it hasn't broken yet.
