Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves:

I love these gloves: they are incredibly warm, allow great dexterity, and block wind--which makes them even warmer and allows my fingers to stay warm. I have poor circulation, and because of this my hands are very sensitive to cold. Anytime I need to some degree of dexterity I use these gloves (and sometimes even when I don't). My only complaint is I found the fingers to be a little bit long, though I have small hands, so I would expect they would fit most people just fine.

Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves:

I'm an old guy. I'm very active, biking two or three days a week. I love these gloves because, as you age, your circulation isn't what it used to be. So I get colder faster. I do get stares by young Lance Armstrong wannabees zooming past me at 25mph+ on the biketrail marked 15mph max. Lookit the old dude with the jacket and gloves while we're nearly naked biking down the trail! Well, if you're lucky, you'll live this long and you'll enjoy the wonders of aging, too. These gloves do the job: they are windbreakers, insulated just enough, and padded enough to help with the aches of gripping the bars. I love 'em and got totally bent when I lost the right hand glove from TWO pairs!!! So I keep an extra pair in my VAN (how uncool to have a van!) And laugh as I bike happily down the trail.

Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves:

Used on Mt Rainier. Good insulation and grip. Still cannot operate camera controls with this glove, but I can't do that with anything more than the lightest liner. This could be used standalone or as a fairly heavy liner glove.

Great Little Glove but It Has Its Limits

Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves:

This is a great little glove that will keep your hands warm and dry (not sweaty) in a variety of conditions. Very good dexterity also -- I was even able to remove a credit card from my wallet with these on. However, they are intentionally designed to create a little space around your fingers to prevent sweating and increase insulation. So I found them a little looser fitting than other gloves.

They do have their limits though. With temperatures in the low 20s or below, you are going to want a heavier glove. I tried these once when temperatures were in the low 20s and there was a brutal, steady 20-25 mph onshore wind. My fingers were literally getting numb when my gloved hands were exposed to the wind. But I found that with temperatures in the 30s or above, the wind was no problem.

Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves:

I've used these for years and find them to be wonderful provided you don't overstep their insulation or durability. Subzero skiing and open flames aren't recommended ;-) , but for everything else they're with me from October to May.

Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves:

Although adequate at blocking wind, these gloves are not good for staying warm in the backcountry or on the bike when there's any wind unless you're very warm-natured. They are good for around home and town during cold, rainy days. Comfortable, yet slightly stiff and tight for the sizing, so buy large enough for good circulation and flex. I use these gloves regularly inside my warm mitts to ski in the backcountry. They're durable and haven't worn out in 2 years. Quality product, but I recommend exploring other light-weight liner options before committing to these rather chunky medium-weight gloves/liners.

Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves:

I've been bouncing around gloves for a couple of weeks and these seem to be working better than the previous ones I've tried. I have a large, could go with a medium, but they still feel nice and snug.

I'm using these today and the morning temp was 19, a little warmer than a typical Wisconsin day, but my hands were decently warm for how light these gloves are.

The grip is great. Reinforced on the pointer and middle finger and the thumb, which adds some additional insullation. The downfall is the ring and little finger don't have the grip on them making for less insullation. So, those fingers get cool first.

Overall a good glove ... for now
