Almost nice

        Comments about Pelican 1150 Case:

        Bought this for a Nikon D40 with a 18-55mm lens. If you take out the foam on the bottom and on the lid, the D40 will fit.. just barely. I thought this would be the ideal case for taking to the desert where it would be sandy and dusty. Unfortunately, it was not the ideal case. First, it takes up a lot of space in your pack. Then, when you want to take a picture you have to place the case on the ground to open the very-hard-to-open latches. At this point the case will fall backward onto its lid as it's top heavy. After that, you have to blow the dust out of the compartment and leave a bunch of sand and dust in the joints as they're unreachable. Finally, I gave up, disgusted with the case I didn't like to carry or even set on the ground. This case would probably be good for carrying something that you don't have to use very often or that you'd use primarily inside or in your car. Campers, hikers, and climbers will leave this one alone.
