Bought a pair 10-20years ago - not exactly sure. Lower rack clips look a bit more sophisticated now, and mine are probably less adjustable but have never had one fall off. Perfect for commuting (usually use only one on left side) and picking up groceries on the way home. Holds a ridiculous amount of stuff and often I’m concern the rack or my tire will fail- handling of bike with 20-30 pounds of chocolate/potatoes/beer/cheese from Trader Joe’s on top of my laptop is not the greatest but pannier (all on one side) holds everything. Trying to find a reason to buy a second new pair but the old ones still holding up just fine. Never had any water get into my stuff even when riding in down pour.
These panniers are great for a commuter. They don't fit the largest laptops (14'' max), but for my 30 mile round trip to/from work I can fit a change of clothes, my laptop, work journal, lunch, and a water bottle. They are easy to put on and take off the bike, and the shoulder strap is great, but I prefer the tote handle. Rode in a downpour, and even as I got soaked, when I opened the panniers when I got home, everything was perfectly dry. I love these panniers and think they are a perfect carrier for a commuter.
Works well with my Tubus rack and Surly Disc Trucker. Currently using them on the rear and they have provided the storage I need.
What can you say? Ortlieb rollers are the gold standard.
I've had the back rollers, used pretty much daily for 3 or more years and they are still in totally good shape. Only problem I had was a recent failure of one of the closure clips and Ortlieb sent a pair of new ones for free, no questions asked.
These are the smaller size, but I use them on my rear panniers with no issues. Installation was hard to figure out (seems to be a trend among German products), but easy once I found a YouTube video. Superb quality, they really do seem waterproof, even in killer wet conditions. The roll-up tops keep water out, but unrolled, they allow you to carry much larger objects than the specs imply. Super easy to attach/remove in seconds, but when attached, they stay put. These really would enable a 100% bicycle lifestyle. Combined with the larger version, you can (e.g.) easily go grocery shopping with these.
A bit smaller than I imagined but they fit my bike perfectly. Quality is 2nd to none. I don't mind paying for quality products.
These panniers are water proof, which was great on our wet trip! Also, easy to put on and off bike rack.
So happy with these. I bought a Trek ebike and my Timbuk2 panniers were too long for the odd rack/embedded fender on the bike. These work like a charm, stay out of the way of the wires and come off with one hand when you lock up the bike. Distance from the rack hooks to the bottom is 12”
They fit perfectly on the rack, with quick attachment and quick and easy lift-off release. Lots of volume in each, too, though a lot of it is vertical. Very sturdy construction. We've already used them for grocery shopping--picking up milk, etc. Look forward to using them on many rides!
