Comments about Mountain House Beef Teriyaki and Rice For Two:
First time in my life I ate freeze dried food and was pleasantly surprised. Granted, I had just hiked 5 miles in a chilly drizzle and had the appetite of a bear but this stuff tasted excellent! Super easy to prepare and it came out perfectly. My buds suggested I add a few extra ounces of water and let it sit for a few more minutes then the label suggests. I'm 6'1" 185 lbs. and the 2 person serving size was absolutely perfect for me. I was definitely full after eating all this. My only con would be the the fact that I had to dig deep in the bag to get everything at the bottom leaving my shirt cuff a little messy. (Bears have strong sniffers folks). However, a longer spoon or dumping into a bowl would alleviate this (I don't carry bowls). In sum, let's be honest here folks: Everything tastes better on the trail, so for all I know I may regurgitate this stuff if I had it at home but in a dark shelter on the AT after a long day of hiking with the sound of cold rain drops pitterpattering on the tin roof and steam rolling out of the bag as I chowed down--filet mignon and lobster tail would have NOTHING on this stuff. Enjoy!
