Comments about Mountain House Pre-Cooked Eggs with Bacon For One:
If you're not adventurous enough to explore new things, then why are you sitting in the woods rehydrating food?
I absolutely love this meal and have had it dozens upon dozens of times. I suppose all these bad reviews are to be expected though, because it really doesn't taste anything like eggs... or.. bacon. It tastes like something you've never had before and will never find anywhere else! And it's delicious. I sometimes have cravings for this even at home. Or at work. Or at a dance club. Or in New Jersey.
I suppose the MSG could be partly to blame for how great this bizarre substance tastes, but there is more to it than just that, and it can only be understood by those who understand.

Comments about Mountain House Pre-Cooked Eggs with Bacon For One:
The food is tasty for freeze-dried. Very simple to prepare. Most bottled-water comes in sizes that are perfect for preparation, and clean-up of this meal, about 16.5 oz. (enough water to make the eggs/bacon in the bag, and clean-up for my titanium spork). However, since I pack these meals primarily when I am backpacking, I am not recommending this for that as this meal does not contain much energy for the hike that may follow. However, if you are craving scrambled eggs and bacon, this one won't dissappoint.

Comments about Mountain House Pre-Cooked Eggs with Bacon For One:
This is the meal that convinced me to have no-cook breakfasts! Tasted fair the first trip, not-so good the second, and VILE the last time I had it.
It is messy to prepare as you must drain some of the water after the food rehydrates.

Comments about Mountain House Pre-Cooked Eggs with Bacon For One:
Most of the freeze dried foods are pretty tasty, but the eggs and bacon ones tend to tast a little funny and just aren't that great. This Mountain House one didn't prove to be much different.

We thought this tasted pretty good, and was easy to prepare. Better than granola bars by far!

Comments about Mountain House Pre-Cooked Eggs with Bacon For One:
What can be said about this awful product. Well, it stinks, the bacon was bacon bits, gave me diarrhea, made my farts nasty, eggs where soggy and watery, taste like the the fast food chain egg patty but worse, made me upset, waste of money etc. I think the only use for this is to buy it for a present for a backpacker you don't like, or to trade it for anything else on the trail!

Comments about Mountain House Pre-Cooked Eggs with Bacon For One:
well, take whatever you know about scrambled eggs with bacon and throw it out the window or else you will be disappointed. Mountain House comes up with a whole new texture for these eggs. You have to realize that these were freeze dried; they're not going to be the scrambled eggs you remember growing up. Yes, they are a little spongy, but they don't taste bad. Yes, the bacon bits are small, but there are tons of them! I had these eggs two mornings in a row and I was very satisfied (despite the added MSG and tons-o-cholesterol). Not the healthiest breakfast out there, but hey, you're camping, you're going to burn it off anyway, right?

These are better than any of the powdered stuff. I used slightly less water and then drained it well. The only thing the eggs needed was some pepper.

Comments about Mountain House Pre-Cooked Eggs with Bacon For One:
I was skeptic of this when I bought it, but it turned out better that I would have guessed. This is clearly meant for hiking and camping, and is not something you'd eat if the size and weight of the packaging weren't factors. The end result is basically dense scrambled eggs mixed with bacon bits. The bacon adds a nice smokey flavor to the slightly bland eggs, giving the duo a good combined flavor. And I don't know how to even begin explaining how good this smells when it's cooking. The smell alone is worth the price as a morning morale booster.
If you follow the directions on the package, you end up with a puddle of water at the bottom of the package, which makes the last couple spoonfuls quite soggy. Try adding about an ounce less water than the directions suggest, and leave the package sealed for a minute or two longer.
