Comments about REI Ultrapod II Tripod:
I have two of these. Bought another one because I thought I'd lost the first.
They are amazingly versital tripods that make location photography in low light or high winds a snap. I have used them on tree limbs in the steaming jungle and at 8,200 feet in high wind and freezing weather. It is easy to attach your camera to the ball head and adjust it once you have secured the tripod using the velcro strap that comes with it. I have put pro SLR cameras and Digital SLR camera on this tripod without problems due to vibration or slipping of the ball head or mounting velcro.
It works even better with compact digital or film point and shoot cameras, and for the price you couldn't find a better tripod to have around town or in the out back.
