Comments about Coghlan's Mosquito Coil:
These are very effective like everyone else has said, so I won't go into detail on that. The downside to them is they are toxic to aquatic life. It says on the back of the box not to use near water or if there is rain forcasted in the next 24 hours. This could just be a percaustion but I would rather not risk it and pollute a stream or other water source. All things considered they work great depending on where you use them.

Comments about Coghlan's Mosquito Coil:
As mentioned in the other reviews, these work effectively when set up as a perimeter. A big con is that these are very brittle coils - do not let anyone who does not have the finess set these up. Any use of brute strength will break the coils.
If your coils get broken, you can shape a stand using a single piece of aluminum foil, wrapping on the inside end of the coil and then shaping the aluminum foil to make a stable platform. It might also help to make this stand up vertically when making your own stand or dealing with broken pieces.

Comments about Coghlan's Mosquito Coil:
Used the coils for the first time while on a family camp at a state park in the Boundry Waters. Brought them with in despiration to help with mosquitoes which ruin our family outings in Minnesota. Lit 4 of them and set up a "preimiter defense" not honestly expecting them to work well. I used 2 of the accessory tins which work better to move the lit coils around the site. By the end of our 4 day camp we had only one bite and did not need to use mosquito spray while at the site; outside our site we were "eaten alive" My skeptical husband proclaimed at the end of the trip "the coils saved the trip".
With my recommendation a freind took the coils on her camping trip along Lake Superior and reported the same success. These things really work!!

Comments about Coghlan's Mosquito Coil:
I've used these for years and am always satisfied at how a few of them can keep mosquitoes at bay. I usually light 3 or 4 and put them up as perimeter defense, some mosquitoes will still make it through, but they keep the majority away.
