The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Potable Aqua Iodine and Taste-Neutralizer Tablets:
Does exactly what it says. I didn't die and the water didn't taste like iodine so I consider that an A++++!

Comments about Potable Aqua Iodine and Taste-Neutralizer Tablets:
These things are great in the US when you don't have to worry about too much. However, I am a frequent traveler to Central/South America and these things aren't enough. Unfortunately, something bigger and bulkier is needed out of the country [SteriPen is unreliable], but these are great in the US/Canada.

Comments about Potable Aqua Iodine and Taste-Neutralizer Tablets:
This stuff is great! I've been using it the entire time I've been backpacking. I am a minimalist, so it goes along well with my style of packing. Weighs practically nothing. I don't use the taste neutralizers, just the iodine. It does stain the water reservoir but I think brown is a much cooler color. It adds character.

Comments about Potable Aqua Iodine and Taste-Neutralizer Tablets:
I used iodine in Pakistan and noticed the water turned curiously cloudy. Next day I had diarrhea. I mentioned the odd water and learned it is a sign the iodine -- opened once about 2 months earlier -- was no longer good. Use it within 1 month of opening or toss it.
Tastes better than chlorine though.

Comments about Potable Aqua Iodine and Taste-Neutralizer Tablets:
My water filter has collected a lot of dust since I found these bad boys. This is all I take on overnight trips to summit 14ers. Yes, they'll stain your water bladder, but I'll take that over the bulkiness of a filter system and having to squat and pump next to freezing water. I typically add an Camelbak Elixir tablet (orange or lemon lime) to hide any weird tastes.

Comments about Potable Aqua Iodine and Taste-Neutralizer Tablets:
We do alot of canoe camping. Get our water from the middle of the lake then put the tablets in. We make up 2 1/2 gal. at a time. Doesn't taste bad but we still mix nearly all of our drinking water with tang. Never had any health problems that I'm aware of. Only thing that confuses me a bit though is that for years the label read, "use one tablet per qt. of water". Now it says use two. Was I endangering myself for all those years or is two simply overkill?

Comments about Potable Aqua Iodine and Taste-Neutralizer Tablets:
When I was in the military, they issued us iodine tabs such as these. They're effective for bacteria (modern medicine uses iodine solutions for cleaning wounds & equipment) but as the label warns: " Not intended for use against viruses or the protozoa cyptosporidum ." They are better than nothing, but other products should be reviewed. Some parasites, once ingested and embedded in your GI tract are very, very hard to eliminate.

Comments about Potable Aqua Iodine and Taste-Neutralizer Tablets:
I've been using this stuff for about ten years now in the Sierra as I pretty much refuse to carry a heavy filter. I use it for treating water on approaches and lower elevations and late inthe season. For over eight years have been drinking untreated water in the high country and even a few lakes without incident, which makes me wonder about sales and promoting water born parisites???

Comments about Potable Aqua Iodine and Taste-Neutralizer Tablets:
Used these on the John Muir Trail in Yosemite. They provided bacteria free water and the taste wasn't bad either. However, the iodine stains hydration reservoirs a brown color.
