Online only I guess?
Tried to purchase at the REI in Denver. I was told "we only sell high end stoves and components in store, try Walmart for something like that". I was confused because I bought the stove at REI and bought my last pump repair kit there?? Wife ordered it online, had it in less than a week, works great. Has the modern synthetic pump cup, while it doesn't stand up to sand as well as the old leather ones it requires less upkeep and doesn't dry out after long storage. This new cup is also easier to invert when its worn than the older ones. Dropped it in and cooked dinner in the parking lot at Loveland 10/10.
Fix it, don't toss it.
I was having a difficult time pressurizing my older Coleman, white gas, two burner stove on a recent trip. I prefer using liquid gas burning lanterns and stoves so that I can physically see how much fuel I have left. As the plunger cup was not made from cork, but of a rubber type material, I couldn't use the old trick of soaking the plunger cup in oil for expansion to help with pump compression. After I returned home from the trip, I ordered this kit to fix the problem. It is an easy fix, is cheaper than buying a new stove, and, of course, reduces land fill waste. The stove now pressurizes as it should. The plunger cup on this replacement is made of the same rubber as the one it replaced. It would be nice if it had been made of the older style, cork, material. The "wrong" material is the reason for the four star rating. This kit is also used for the Coleman liquid fuel lanterns.
Repaired pump for 1957 vintage Coleman Stove
This was fairly straightforward to repair, with the help of a YouTube video. For the vintage models, you have to take the plunger off (sacrificing the pre-installed clip) and replace it with the included older-style kit (spring first, then plunger, then clip). The difficult part was getting the plunger into the hole; you have to use a small screwdriver to sort of wedge the edges in all around, taking care not to tear it. All in all, the process only took about 5 minutes, and my stove works great!
Just what I needed
Product was just what I needed to fix my older Coleman double burner camp stove. Installation was a breeze, about 30 seconds total and a few drops of oil for lubrication and it was back up and running.
The Right Stuff-- & cheaper too!
Perfect parts for 1973 Coleman 2 burner liquid fuel stove. Easy, quick installation. Cheaper from REI than WalMart & others online!
Repair was easy
These parts brought my old coleman stove back to life. Instructions were easy and it had everything you need for the repair
