Comments about Nalgene Narrow-Mouth Bottle - 32 fl. oz.:

I bought this because I needed to rehydrate myself while working at my desk. Just hated getting up and refilling my glass of water every 30 mins because I gulp down liquids like its air.

A lot of reviews say that this bottle leaves an aftertaste. I too agree, however I think the problem can be resolved with a few drops of lemon juice. Just a thought.

The narrow mouth is nice for wrapping your lips around when you're having those chug urges. The volume indicator is a nice reference point and the attached screw cap is very handy.

Comments about Nalgene Narrow-Mouth Bottle - 32 fl. oz.:

This is a great, inexpensive solution.

HDPE production doesn't have a huge impact on resources compared to most other plastics (LDPE does use fewer resources). Also, HDPE is one of the most recyclable plastics. So from an environmental and resource perspective, it is a good choice.

HDPE is not as resilient to impacts and punctures as proprietary type-7 resins. But it is significantly more resilient than LDPE.

HDPE is not as resilient to chemicals and odors as proprietary type-7 resins. But it is significantly more resilient than LDPE.

HDPE is generally less costly (by about half!) than proprietary type-7 resins (such as the Nalgene Everyday BPA-free bottle).

I like that this bottle is very recyclable. I don't mind that it isn't as resilient to impacts--they're still extremely difficult to puncture, tear, or cut. Mine hasn't acquired any kind of odor, and it only has an occasional "plastic taste," despite the fact that I only use food-grade vinegar to clean mine. I like that I can buy two of these for the price of one of most other similar water bottles.

Also, the narrow-mouth is great for drinking! I prefer the wide-mouth for use with a water filter.

Comments about Nalgene Narrow-Mouth Bottle - 32 fl. oz.:

There's no plastic taste as long as the water stays cold.
I fill it 1/2 or 3/4 full and freeze it over night depending on how long I need it to stay cool. I fill it the rest of the way when I'm ready to go, and carry it in an insulated lunch bag so it stays cold all day.

Comments about Nalgene Narrow-Mouth Bottle - 32 fl. oz.:

A bare-bones, non-leaking carrier of liquids. Truly, what more can you want? It's not as flashy as its neon-colored kin but it also won't crack, break or shatter if dropped from most any height. That's a reasonable trade off. Plastic taste? Try an overnight soak of water and baking soda; it's worked for me. Make your statement with your actions, not your water bottle. Or not.

Comments about Nalgene Narrow-Mouth Bottle - 32 fl. oz.:

I've had a couple of these bottles for several years and won't hesitate to buy them again in the future as needed. I have not had any problems with aftertaste. I treat the bottles pretty poorly (always throwing them around, accidentally driving over one, etc.) and they've never cracked nor leaked.

However, one time I tried to grab a bottle out of my pack by the blue strap that connects the cap to the bottle and the strap snapped, severing the connection. This is my only complaint after five years. Great bottle!

Comments about Nalgene Narrow-Mouth Bottle - 32 fl. oz.:

I ordered 3 of these bottles, I use one at my desk at home, one stays with my elliptical machine for use during workouts, and one goes with me in my backpack. The size is good, the bottle is not too hard to clean, and the price is great.

Unfortunately, all 3 bottle suffer from a bad plastic smell/aftertaste that kicks in after water has been sitting in the bottle for a few hours. It's very noticeable if water has stayed in the bottle overnight. The water develops an almost sweet taste and the plastic smell is very strong. Rinsing the bottle out with very hot water will get rid of it, but it always comes back (had them for about 3 weeks now).
