I like the wide-mouth 1 Liter Lexan plastic bottles, and I have one EACH for water, coffee and soda/energy drinks, even though they don't really absorb taste or odors (but can be harder to clean if you mix all that stuff without a thorough washing).

This is a very ideal water bottle with many uses, I have used it on many different occasions. it has even been a bowl once or twice. It does not retain smells and it does a great job holding temps. The only thing a little odd is the bulky strap and lid. Once you get use to it and develop a way of holding and using the bottle that is comfortable for you it is great.

    I have carried Nalgene bottles for about 9 years now. My husband and I have about 12 of them. They are indestructable- ran over one once- still have it. I like that I can monitor my water intake. Fantastic...everyone I know owns a few.

      Had a lot of other lexan bottles and never really liked them. Almost all of them leaked. This one is different. Doesn't leak and fits most water filters and has many made for Nalgene accesories. Great Product.

      it's just a water bottle

      I used to make fun of people carrying around their bottles until i got one for myself. now i own multiple. they are actually multi-functional and can be used for more than the obvious purposes. they hold my duct tape. i've used them as a minnow bucket while fishing. i pour hot water into them and tuck it into my sleeping bag in the winter, and a few other uses that i'm in no hurry to admit. My only complaint is about the loop top. it's not all that strong and it has broken off every one of my bottles.

        I have dropped one of these full of water off the roof of my three story apartment building and it survived without a scratch. These truely are unbreakable! I never go anywhere without mine now.
