Comments about Open Country 2 - 5 Cup Coffee Perk:
I've been really happy with this kettle. The GSI Glacier Stainless Cup fits perfect inside this pot under the perculator part. This makes an ultra compact kit for solo adventures.
Have used a Whisperlight, Trangia alco-stove, and campfire coals to get her to perc. All work great.
My kettle doest match the picture here. The spout is on the lip as opposed to the side in the picture (i.e. more compact than shown).
One tip is to let her rest about 15-20s after removing from the heat source to let the perc cup drain completely into the kettle. Then remove the perc part before pouring.

Comments about Open Country 2 - 5 Cup Coffee Perk:
I bought this product to use as a backpacking pot, not a coffee pot (removal of the insides). Before buying this item I read the reviews; only one review stated the pot leaked at the rivets so I thought maybe "their" pot was defective. Unfortunately, the pot I bought leaked at the rivets too. Unless I can figure a way to correct this issue, I will be returning the pot. This would make a great backpacking pot as it will hold 4 cups of water comfortably (not 5 cups); is lightweight, and has a pouring indentation in the pot (not a separate spout which adds more weight). The weight of the pot and lid only is 6.6 ounces. My yes recommendation of this pot is only if you can figure out how to stop the rivets from leaking. :-)

Comments about Open Country 2 - 5 Cup Coffee Perk:
It leaked the first time that I fired it up. The can has rivets that hold the handle on. It leaked out of the rivets. Poor design. I like to purchase American made products and this was a let down. I will be returning it promptly.

Comments about Open Country 2 - 5 Cup Coffee Perk:
The thing I miss most when camping was coffee, so I finally bought a perk coffe pot. It does the job. Its much lighter weight than most other pots and makes enough coffee for 1 or 2 people. Yes it is bulky, all pots are, but just pack stuff inside if you are backpacking or short on space. Now I have my coffee in the morning

Comments about Open Country 2 - 5 Cup Coffee Perk:
I wrote this review a couple of days ago but it seems to have been lost before it got posted.I just returned from a week long camping trip and was first time using the coffee pot found that the handles could be a tad larger; but even more they need to be insulated. My stove is a M.S.R wisperlite and when boiling water grab the handles to pour without a glove or some wrap your going to have a bad morning.

I just returned from a week long camping trip and love the pot itself just feel handles could be a tad larger and found that the handles get to hot to handle without help of glove or other wrap why not cover handles with silicon?

Did the job well. Only con would be that the lid comes off when pouring. Must hold lid on. This is hard when the pot has been sitting on the fire. FYI

I read the comments before picking this little pot up and it performed wonderfully. Just keep an eye on the pot and when it starts to boil dail down the heat a bit and it's just fine. I use maxwell house coffee packets that come wrapped in a filter and one packet made a perfect pot of coffee with zero mess.

Comments about Open Country 2 - 5 Cup Coffee Perk:
I was looking for an easy way to make some coffee while on the trail without bringing too much equipment. This perc works decently, but it gets a bit tedious to clean while on the trail due to lack of water.
As a coffee enthusiast, let me tell you that this will not give you the best coffee for your buck. What I did was to take the stem and basket out so that it's just a pot. This little guy does a great job as a small pot to boil a decent amount of coffee. I bought the GSI ultra light Java Drip and stuck it inside the pot. Now, when I go camping all I have to worry about cleaning is my cup and a quick rinse of the filter.
The java drip makes a much better brew. I add 4 hefty spoonfuls of coffee and that seems to do the trick!
I'm not saying that this perc won't do the job, but you're better off with the Java Drip by GSI.
(This perc got 4 stars because of its abilities as light weight pot).

Comments about Open Country 2 - 5 Cup Coffee Perk:
I was looking for a Perk Coffee Pot that would yield no more than 2-4 cups of coffee. [...] I gave this one a try and really like and highly recommend it! I would say it's really about a 3-Cupper for people who drink coffee in larger mugs. It easy easy to use and easy to clean. I used it on a cooking grate above direct flame. It did not warp or get damaged from the direct heat. Seems like a light-weight, but it really stepped up to the challenge and succeeded in my book.
