Comments about MSR Stowaway Pot - 475ml:

I've had this bomb-proof pot 15+ years and I love it. It actually holds a pint of water, which makes it ideal size for soloists who eat freeze-dried foods.
Folks who avoid aluminum and coated cookware should find it appealing also.

Comments about MSR Stowaway Pot - 475ml:

This pot is very convenient as it can hold an ample amount of water, but also stores an MSR Pocket Rocket and a 227g fuel canister. So packing can be really compact. If not, I've put food in and hung it in a bear bag for safe keeping. It's pretty versatile, but not the lightest pot out there.

The construction of the pot is pretty good. I haven't had a problem with the handle yet, but I suspect that eventually the portion of the pot that holds the base of the handle still will have to be adjusted a little bit. That's easy enough to do though by yourself!

And finally, the price is great! it's pretty versatile in the things that you can make with it, so you're getting a lot of options for the small price you're paying!

Comments about MSR Stowaway Pot - 475ml:

I use this pot for backpacking. I only boil water for freeze dried food or drinking, so clean up is very easy. I love this pot because the handle and lid snap closed tight for packing as well as storing stuff inside. The other reason I like the pot is because if you just boil water, the pot looks and stays shiny stainless steel clean which (to me) is appealing. Also the pot seems pretty hard to dent and scratch(again it stays looking new).
The downside for this pot is that the handle tabs seem to bend a little after a few uses, so you have to spread them out a tiny bit to allow the handle to snap in place for pouring. No big deal though...
If you are counting ounces, this pot is heavy.

Tiny pot - the 475 ml is misleading

Comments about MSR Stowaway Pot - 475ml:

The description says it's a "pot", it is very small. I think you can only get about 1 cup of water out of it at a time and forget about actually cooking in it. I ordered it for solo backpacking - too small even for that. The little clip on lid is a nice feature, but it would not be effective in keeping animals out (except maybe mice). It's going back.

Comments about MSR Stowaway Pot - 475ml:

If one word had to describe this pot, it would be "tough". I've had this pot for years now and I haven't found another pot that could take a licking like this one. It has the best lid clasp I've ever seen and stores the handle extremely securely. This is the only piece of cookware I use at home just as often if not more then out on the trails. On the negative side, the shiny stainless steel doesn't absorb heat nearly as well as the black hardcoat anodized cookware I have, and the stainless steel also makes this pot slightly heavier then a pot the same size made out of aluminum or titanium. This wouldn't be the pot to take if every ounce counts. However, weighing up the pros and cons, I would definitely recommend it for most adventures.

Comments about MSR Stowaway Pot - 475ml:

I love this pot. The quality is fantastic and it was definitely built to last. It's easy to clean and quite stable. I just recently used it on a camping trip with the snow peak lite max and was concerned about stability but it really did well.

The only cons for me is the weight. When backpacking you realize that every pound matters and it adds up. That said I"m very satisfied with this product and look forward to using it for a long time.

Comments about MSR Stowaway Pot - 475ml:

I've had this pot for years now. Tried to replace it with titanium but was disappointed, I mostly cook with wood using a Bushbuddy and this is where rugged stainless steel cookware "shines". The long handle allows me to also cook without burning my fingers. My portion of a cup of dry rotini pasta can cook for 15 - 20 minutes just fine. As for the lid: The handle of my REI titanium spoon works perfectly as a lid lifter. It's worth the weight!

Comments about MSR Stowaway Pot - 475ml:

I have had 4 of these. 2 that "old man river" took in a canoe mishap and 2 that I replaced them with. They are very rugged. The lid design has a clasp that holds very securely. Since pots can be bulky, I also use for food storage with ziplock bags. These are great products, but get something lighter if you can afford it, for backpacking use.
