REI Members get back an estimated $ 2.50 on this item as part of their annual member refund.

    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

    Open Country Campers 23'' x 12'' Gridis rated4.5out of5by2.
Rated4out of5byfromIt works, its simple, but does get dirtyWe've owned this for a couple years. Use it mostly for car camping and to supplement or as an alternate to the small stove. Yes it gets dirty even if you don't cook dirtectly on it (use pans instead). Solution? A wet towel works wonders most of the time, and a simple small BBQ grill brush works for the tougher stuff. I know, I know, you don't want to carry all that extra stuff with you when hiking. You shouldn't carry this for hiking either. That's not what its for really. This is good for an established camp site you're going to be at for a few days. Either carry it with you when you empty out the car, or just take it out of the car if you've parked right next to your camp site. We've done burgers, steaks, dogs, coffee in a fire pot directly on this. Also used a couple cast iron pans for breakfast and one of those simple campfire bread toasters for bacon, sausage and eggs. It'll hold a couple 9inch cast iron pans, the lil toaster and coffee pot with ease. Turns out that stuff isn't all that heavy and the grid holds it well. Need to shuffle and juggle though since things only fit a certain way on it when you fill it up like that, but it still works fine. A friend has this same one, and he likes to get his fire HOT sometimes. I've noted a minor dip in the length of his grill, likely due to the combination of heat and the weight of his larger cast iron pan (11inch I think). Still, it holds up well.

Rated5out of5byfromDoes what it is suppose to doWe camp at about 5000+ feet elevation on the desert. I was tired of charcoal not getting hot enough. What is better than cooking on an open fire? This item works great for this. Simple and works.
