I apologize up front for the length of this review, but I have to say, you just can't beat this table.

I've had two of these for maybe 10 years, and other than a few spots (I let the alcohol sit too long a couple of times when cleaning off the pitch), they show no real wear -- no splits in the vinyl, and the legs screw in as snugly as they did the day I bought them. One table got a small split in the storage mesh last year, but that's it.

These tables might be lightweight, but they're strong -- I pile computers, keyboards, batteries, heavy 4-D lanterns, reams of paper, manuscripts, you name it, on the tables for weeks at a time while working up in the mountains. I've piled 60-70 hardback references on them more than once -- and they still held up with barely any jiggling. Even 6'3" people can get their knees comfortably underneath the table for breakfast or a game of cribbage.

Key advantages over other tables? 1) They offer more surface area than other collapsible tables. 2) They have a flatter surface all the way across -- no angles in the slats, and no sagging corners like a center-collapse table. 3) The vinyl covering means spills are easily wiped up, as opposed to dripping through exposed slats of other tables that are really annoying to clean. 4) The screw-in legs are remarkably sturdy and stay straight even on rough ground. In contrast, the wide-slat insert, accordian-collapse tables are flimsy, don't hold their shape on uneven ground, and are difficult to use. 5) You can lift and move these tables without the legs popping off (as they do on the pin-style X-brace tables).

I've put in 2+ decades of working outdoors, and these tables are the sturdiest, best-designed portable collapsible tables I have ever found or owned. (I kept getting asked where I got mine -- and bribed to sell them. No, I keep saying, I mean it.)

The reason I wrote this review is that I'm just so pleased these tables are available again. I just bought 2 more for my cabins. Now I'm buying another 2 for a second outdoor kit.

We have had this table for 6 or 7 years and we love it. The vinyl coating is quite durable; we haven't had a single tear in it and it cleans easily. It is great for music festivals or rustic camping where picnic tables are not available OR when you are camping with a large group and want more surface space off the ground. We attend an annual festival at which we wait in line for 5-6 hours before we can enter: we set up this table and our camp stove and in no time have a fresh scramble and hot coffee for breakfast. We are the envy of all other festival go-ers with this table!

We bought an earlier version of this table in 1991, and it is still going strong. The older version had two plastic pockets and the staples have come loose from them (could probably be fixed with a staple gun), but this table has been used countless times for many occasions. It nicely seats 4. In cold weather especially you may have to pull to stretch it out, but it sets up easily and is amazingly sturdy considering there is no cross bracing. It may seem expensive, but will last practically forever, and the elegant, simple design is a joy. I love this table!

I do a lot of camping and you can't always count on a picnic table being supplied. This table is easy to pack in a vehicle, sets up quickly and easily and is sturdy. The mesh pocket is great for holding things when the table is in use, and is a great place for the legs which helps the table roll up easily. Its use is only limited by your imagination, including tailgating at Green Bay Packer games! REI, keep this winner in stock!

Solid table. I mainly use this for river trips (canoe and raft) but also car and camper camping. Unlike many products, it delivers on its implied functions. It is compact, durable, stable and functions well as table. Simple to set up. Correct height and thigh clearance. I've no complaints.

I have had this table for more than 6 years and it was my parents before that and it is still in great shape and is used frequently. This table is perfect for the campsite to set up our prep station so the table at the campsite can be used for sitting/eating at. The pocket on the side that the table is stored in works great to hold small items when it is opened up. It is also the perfect size to take to picnics since it accommodates camp chairs. I have also used this for selling girl scout cookies, nuts, etc since it is easy to transport, sturdy and again the pocket is perfect for holding pens, forms, bags, etc. It is a little wobbly if your coffee cup or cocktail is full, but nothing that would stop me from buying it again.

A great camp table. I've used this car camping and at base camp for a number of climbing adventures. Even at a few tailgating parties. It's well built and will support a good amount of weight. I really like how easy this is to clean. With all the mess that is sometimes involved with cooking I was glad this wipes up very nicely. The vinyl is pretty tough too and the pockets are a nice touch.

It packs up nice too. Takes a minute or two to put together. Very highly recommended for your outdoor adventures.
