Comments about Standard Blue Foam Pad - Regular:

This pad is good in many ways, except you should buy the long one. This one is 3/4 length. My feet have been the only part of me that's cold anymore at night, and I finally realized it's because this sleeping pad stops at my knees. Buy the long one, even for summer camping, unless you live in a hot climate. The long version of this is full length, and will weigh only 2.5 more ounces. It will be a tad bulkier, but worth it for warm feet.

Comments about Standard Blue Foam Pad - Regular:

I took this pad brand new to grand canyon/ colorado river for a week...and I thought i'd cut my costs a bit and buy a cheaper sleeping pad...lets just say it was a rough week. You need to get a good quality sleeping pad...even though the price looks appealing...after a long day of hiking...you'll want something semi soft to lay down on. This pad was about an inch thick, ripped easily, and absorbs dirt so it can't be cleaned...bottom line...don't buy.

Comments about Standard Blue Foam Pad - Regular:

It's very compact. I fold mine and it fits inside my pack. It does get holes in it, but it doesn't seem to effect it to much. Wish I could find the R-value and see how it compares to other closed cell foam pads on the market.

Great for economical lightweight and durable pad. Not as comfortable as some of the more expensive pad. Not enough padding on the pressure points.

Comments about Standard Blue Foam Pad - Regular:

Don't try actually sleeping directly on this pad unless you are a masochist, you will have a miserable time of it. The best use of this pad is to extend the temperature range of a lightweight air mattress like the Therm-a-Rest ProLite. The ProLite on top of this will give you a comfortable night's sleep and take you down to well below freezing for much less weight than a thicker air mattress. Note that this pad, or *any* sleeping pad, should only be used on top of a tent floor or ground sheet -- I am baffled by people reporting torn pads, because that should be impossible if this pad is properly used, this is a very durable piece of gear that's pretty much impossible to destroy unless you're abusing it by e.g. using it without a ground sheet.

Comments about Standard Blue Foam Pad - Regular:

Just got back from backpacking in Glacier National Park. We were out for 5 days total and the pad did not hold up well. It is not easy to clean and has several tears. This would not make it through another trip like this so we will be returning it and getting a higher quality sleeping pad. I did find it comfortable enough and I didn't have any issues with it not being long enough since I am 5'3".

Comments about Standard Blue Foam Pad - Regular:

I like the longer pad for cold nights because it keeps the feet warm. If the pad is too short, then the sleeping bag just doesn't provide enough warmth.
