Great Lightweight Jacket
Very light comfortable and was a perfect addition to recent hike in the Oregon Cascades. It was worn when it got windy on a ridgeline over a smartwool 1/4 zip and performance base layer. This combo was perfect in mid 30's with wind. Highly recommend.
The Go To
I am 53 and lead an active, outdoor lifestyle in the Northeast. And as you may guess, I have many (many) jackets. I reach for this jacket more than any other in my closet, because it is super comfortable in a variety of temps and conditions. It can handle temps in the high 30's with just a t-shirt underneath, but is breathable and light enough to keep on indoors without working up a sweat. The snuggly fleece lining is a huge plus, and it breathes when I am huffing and puffing. If it drops below freezing or starts to get too messy out, it fits nicely under a shell or puffy. All in all, I love this thing so much I bought two.
Three-Season Go To
Comfy. Runs a bit big (I'm 6'1", 188, and the medium suits me over a tee shirt). I bought this for three season use and it fits the bill for trips to the climbing gym or the grocery story when it's chilly out. Based on the fit and breathability, it should also work as a backcountry skiing layer this winter. We'll see.
Quality on this one is a bit sub par
A bit disappointed in the quality. The draw string on the hood broke on the first use (barely even touched it/tried to use it).
Near Perfect
I love everything about this jacket. It is the perfect shoulder season or lightweight jacket for a variety of activities. The fit is great, the inside material is very comfortable, and it performs as described, including breathability. My only complaint I can possibly think of is when layered with other pieces, it tends to shift a lot from side to side leaving the "center" or zipper off to the side. It doesn't like to stay centered on your body. Otherwise, everything else is perfect.
Favorite 3 season jacket !
I love the Dawner Hooded Jacket. It is the perfect mix of warmth with breathability, as well as the exterior fabric being weather resistant enough to offer some protection when things take a turn. I use it regularly as an outer layer for winter ski touring, and chilly Spring and Fall days in the alpine. It can be layered over on really cold and less high output days. It is comfortable and yet still stylish enough to wear around town and the fit is great. Way to go Stio design team!
Warmer than I expected it to be!
Great hoodie warmer than I expected it would be. Has proved to be just as effective as all Stio products I own!
Perfect for winter hiking
I bought this to use for hiking up the ski mountain (or skinning up). I’ve also used it for snowshoeing. I love it for these activities in the cold where you are working and sweating. It is warm breathable and super comfortable. I use over a base layer in temperatures 15 + and below that I throw a vest over that I can easily remove. It is perfect! I love it! On the size I got a large. My other Stio coats I use a medium. So check what you like on that.
Amazingly versatile jacket
This jacket is versatile in a great range of temperatures. I’ll often put this on when I’m heading out on a cool morning and bring an extra insulating layer just in case I need it, but now realize that isn’t necessary. The jacket is so lightweight and breathable at first I thought it would not be warm enough with just a base layer, but it always is and as temps warm up a bit, the breathability of it keeps you comfortable. I would highly recommend it.
Awesome layer, but should be offered in XS
I absolutely love this layer in terms of materials, aesthetics, and features. It's light, warm, comfortable, and has really everything that you'd want in this type of jacket. My one complaint is that the sizing runs too large, in my opinion. I ordered a small, and while it fits fine, it's not at all a performance fit. I think offering additional sizing would be helpful in allowing users to size down, for less fabric.
