Comments about Thorlo Hiking Crew Socks:
OK socks, but don't regulate temps as well as merino wool socks, aren't as comfortable, tend to pill and bunch up, and worst of all build up a funkier smell. But, are a bit more durable.

Comments about Thorlo Hiking Crew Socks:
I stand and walk on concrete 10 to 12 hours a day.
I have tried many socks but the Thorlos' are the best that i have encountered.

Comments about Thorlo Hiking Crew Socks:
Great hiking socks, but are thick so make sure your shoes are not too snug for them or can cause problems. Nice and toasty -- good for cooler temps, but too hot for warmer days.

Comments about Thorlo Hiking Crew Socks:
After wearing 'everyday socks' for my job, putting these on is a real pleasure. They are so soft and supportive, and walking in them feels great! Do make sure you wear them when you buy hiking shoes/boots, as they are pretty bulky - I can't get them in my work shoes or I'd wear them all the time.

Comments about Thorlo Hiking Crew Socks:
I live at high altitude. I wear these socks year around. They keep my feet warm and dry. I also wear them hiking where they keep my feet from blistering.

Comments about Thorlo Hiking Crew Socks:
Thorlo socks are always a best choice for any activity, and they cover all the bases for fit, etc. BTW, if your socks "get a funky smell", the problem is your feet, NOT the socks, especially Thorlo!

Comments about Thorlo Hiking Crew Socks:
I use these with hiking boots when I am hiking hard surfaces or urban settings. The extra padding really helps add cushioning. The uppers are light weight. These socks add extra warmth in winter. the blend adds strength and comfort. I cannot wear wool blend socks, too itchy. These are comfortable all day and not hot even for summer hikes.

Comments about Thorlo Hiking Crew Socks:
I ran onto these years ago and have worn them almost daily for over 10 years. With my steel toed work boots, Tony Lamas, Merrells or my Vasque hiking boots they are very comfortable. These are the best socks I have worn or I wouldn't still be wearing them. I wear them with several different styles of footwear and yes, it is a thick sock.
However, if you think about it when you buy the footwear that isn't a problem. Wear the socks you plan to wear with the shoe. Try before you buy, REI folks are more than happy to help you find what you need. A real no brainer huh?

I wear these just about every day fall thru spring with Ecco Track boots. Very comfortable and cushy, especially after a wash. You'll be glad you got 'em.
