I bought 6 pair of boots to try on for Alaska and these are the only ones I kept. These are goretex and lightweight which i prefer, they seemed to be waterproof after a few rainy hikes, but even after one trail the black pair I bought are already discolored for good so I gave up trying to wash them. They stayed comfortable after a 30k step day and took no breaking in which is great. I recommend sizing up a half size. I wish they were a tad less boxy in the toe where they feel too spacious for me. I hope these last or will be disappointed in the price tag
Recently bought these boots, and hiked 10 miles this past weekend. These boots were comfortable and very light weight. These trails were uneven, muddy and rocky. I crossed a few creeks with no issues. I am a clumsy hiker and not once did I feel my ankle went unsupported. I definitely would recommend these boots! I can’t wait to try them on a 14er this summer.
Appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us!
Tried on 6+ pairs and kept going back to these. They felt great. Light, cushioned, supportive. First trek out was nearly 7 miles and 2000ft elevation gain. No discomfort!
I got it 4 days before the trip to Peru, so I didn’t have time to break in. I was in the Inka trail 4 days, went through steep rocky roads, jungle, light rain and so much more but these shoes was so comfortable, and perfect waterproof. Love it
We are happy to know you had a great experience.
OBSESSED is an understatement for these shoes! I absolutely love these boots, they are so comfortable. I got them for a few hiking trips I had coming up and they did not disappoint. No breaking in necessary ready to wear right out of the box. My old Merrill’s were bulky and heavy but these are so comfortable and light. Did an 8 to 10 mile hike in them back to back no problem. Definitely recommend will not disappoint. Water proof, kept my feet dry during the rainy season hikes I did. Also the color is super cute, I got the grey ones and they matched with everything.
Great shoe! It’s been in the Arizona desert and tropical island of Madeira, Portugal. Recommend going a half size bigger though!
Thank you for the awesome review!
I love these Merrells. They are sturdy, stable and feel like a running shoe. This is my 3rd pair. I have these also in a wide and is a low quarter version. I use them for hiking, dog walking in the rain and snow and walking around our land. I have used them in pouring rain and my feet stayed dry. I dont think they are sturdy enough for heavy backpacking but for a light day pack, no problem. Size wise I usually wear a 9.5 in running and training shoes and I ordered a 10 in these and they were good. I prefer the wide version though as it gives me just a bit more toe box room, not necessarily extra width but roomier. I am hoping these will break in enough to be as comfortable as the wider version. But a great comfortable boot overall.
Bought as work boots. Comfortable, runs snug, feels secure around the ankle without being bulky or stiff. Waterproofing is solid, and they can be laced fairly tight without feeling too constricting. The tread leaves a little to be desired; less rubbery/grippy than expected and it's slippery on wet, smooth, or metal surfaces. Would expect better performance for the price, hopefully they won't wear down too quickly. Probably adequate for dry trails, but falls short for multi-environment indoor use.
We value your rating.
Purchased for Half Dome hike in September. I wore them for the first time this June. Did short steep 6 mile hike (Table Rock in SC). They were comfortable straight out of the box. No break in period. I stepped in a coulple of puddles and my feet stayed dry. There were wet flat rocks all along my hike and throughout the whole hike i may have slipped 2x, while I saw others slipping constantly. The toe box is very roomy, and ankles felt supported. My feet had no aches after. I'd highly recommend.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
Most confortable walking shoes i ever bought but there is a major problem. As per tag on it it is waterproof but for only approx one hour, the time the water takes to soak in, a bit like rain on a land dried from weeks of no rain. Do the test, you will see on your own. Pour water for two seconds on the tip and put your hand inside. Waterfroof!!! Fantastic! Then wait an hour and do the same for another 2 seconds. A river will come into your shoe. Good only on a dry sunny day....
