Love them

Best casual shoe ever. True to size. Wide/round toe box. I've had these for over a year and they still look brand new!!! Complaints here must be because they ate using as a true hiking boot. These are more and everyday shoe you can also take on the trail. They really "free your toes" like most shoes should!!! Love these will buy more Oboz!!!

False representation of color!

Great shoe, inaccurate color. According to the advertised picture and description, these shoes should be a common type of brown in color. These shoes are more of a khaki and look nothing like the brown in the picture on the website. Very disappointed because I was specifically wanting a brown shoe. Otherwise, great fit and comfort. I would buy again, but only in store to ensure the color is correct.

Significant toe box problem

I love Oboz shoes. I own five other Oboz styles (Arete, Beartooth, Bozeman mid and low, Tamarack), but the Beall did not work for me. The top of toe box pushed down on my foot and was uncomfortable. The size also ran small. I was also surprised that you can't cinch the shoe down simply by pulling on the ends of the laces. The eylets don't allow enough free movement, so you have to cinch down starting a few eyelets in, and working your way back up to the top. I guess I'll push my Bozeman for another year. I wish I could get another pair of Aretes. They are the best.

Oboz Beall casual shoe

The Oboz Beall is a well-made casual shoe. The shoe is fairly heavy, not meant to be lightweight and breathable. Fit is very good for me, true to size with a fairly roomy tie box. I’d give it five stars except for the fact that, after a year+ of casual use, whereas the upper is like new the soles’ forefoot lugs are almost completely worn off.

Excellent for rough backpacking to around town

Worked very well even in Denali backcountry backpacking. Nice for dayhikes too. And look decent in town. I didn't want to use them in the Denali backcountry, but my new, "serious" boots blew up right before the trip. The Oboz Beals went through heck [profanity alter on this?!] in Denali. Bushwhacking and stream crossing all day. Maybe 40-45 pound pack. Constantly wet. Rocks jabbing them. I thought they'd never make it. They came out with no issues whatsoever. I had no complaints about them. Not waterproof, but nothing would have been for this trip. Dried fast enough. Breathed. Good support on all terrain, including horrible scree. I'm really impressed with these. Glad REI carries them.

Great Casual shoe

Great looking shoe with a wide width in the toe box. Had some issues with tightness on top of my foot. Think I needed a little more room. Comfortable shoe I couldn’t make work.

First dud from Oboz

I love Oboz shoes. I’ve owned 5 pairs from 4 different styles. This one however makes my feet sweat like crazy. The weirdest part is that this was the first pair that weren’t waterproof. I’ve never had this problem before. Also I got them in black and they were grey at best. I took them back and got another style from Oboz.
