Temperature ratings are intended as a guideline to help you compare products, rather than a guarantee of warmth, since many different factors contribute to your comfort while you sleep. Backpacking bags are typically rated for temperature according to an independent testing protocol—currently International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 23537, though some older items followed European Norm (EN) 13537. Testing is based on a person wearing one base layer and a pair of socks, sleeping on an insulated surface with a minimum R-value of 5.38.

Each bag then gets 2 ratings: the Comfort rating is the lowest temperature at which the bag will keep the average "cold sleeper" comfortable, and the Lower Limit rating is the lowest temperature at which the bag will keep the average "warm sleeper" comfortable. Some brands determine their own temperature rating by aligning to the Comfort rating for women’s bags, to the Lower Limit rating for men’s bags, or somewhere in the middle for nongendered bags.

Comfortable and soft

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fabric on the Arch Bay 30F sleeping bag green is amazingly soft and comfortable. The bag arrived in wonderful outside packaging with easy instructions on how to actually get it out of the black bag. Once out it is a beautiful color green with yellow on the inside. Climbing in it is warm and soft with padding that seems comfortable. Rolling up was easy but I can never get it back in the bag even with the easy instructions included on the ties. But maybe it was just me! Thou it’s 40 below here I cannot wait to try this in the summer/fall on a camping outing. Looking forward to our next adventure.

The camping season is starting early this year!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely hate being cold. This is why I generally wait until June to camp (and in most situations July). I would be open to camping in May if the temperature didn't drop so much at night. I am fine during the day, but once the sun drops, I no longer feel like having fun. This Arch Bay sleeping bag from @colemanusa may change that! It is designed to keep you warm in temperatures as low as thirty degrees. As soon as I got in it, I could feel the warmth it provides. The fabric was soft and lacked the stiffness of my old sleeping bag. They also use post consumer polyester to create the filling. It has an easy to use zipper and a hook for rolling it up, so there's no need to worry about tying it. Did I mention it comes in green!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Coleman Arch Bay sleeping bag is the best sleeping bad I've ever tried. We went camping in 50° weather and I was warm all through the night. The sleeping bag was warm and it was super soft on the inside. I'd have to say ot was pretty comfortable for a sleeping bag

Comfortable and Cozy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Coleman Arch Bay 30F Ecotherm Sleeping Bag is quite comfortable. It's made from "100% post-consumer recycled fill" and states it's for "moderate weather". I really like the feel of the material and I think it's very comfortable. However, my family likes to camp and this particular bag doesn't seem the best for serious campers, especially in cold weather. The material is warm and cozy, but easily absorbs moisture. It also doesn't have the multiple temperature ratings that some high end bags have (for example, a comfort rating and a lower limit rating). I like the "comfort cuff" designed to "provide comfort around the face" and I like the curved top portion that rises above the zipped part. I'm 5'7" and of slightly below average weight. I take up all the space from top to bottom and can turn comfortably in the bag. I don't think it would work well for someone much taller. Overall, this is a perfect sleepover bag for my kids or when their friends sleepover. They love the color and the "Roll Control" and "Quick Cord" help them successfully roll up the bag by themselves.

Keeps you warm and comfortable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely loved this sleeping bag. It was extremely comfortable and easy to use, the material was so nice, and it kept me really warm. We used this for our camping trip in Colorado and it was the perfect size, and the temperature control really helped out stay warm in this cold weather!

Great size

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. I Love the green color of this sleeping bag. It comes with a storage bag that (like all sleeping bags) is impossible to fit it back into! I haven’t fully tested this on an overnight camp experience, but it definitely holds warmth well. Only part I don’t love is the texture of the fabric on the outside of the bag- I anticipate it could get soggy if there’s any precipitation or moisture in a tent. It’s got a sort of grippy cotton-y feel to it? That’s mostly a personal preference. Otherwise, I think this will be a great sleeping bag for PNW camping trips. Love the arched top for a place for my pillow! I’m 5ft 10 and felt I had plenty of room.

High Quality and Easy to Use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Coleman Arch Bay sleeping bag is comfortable and easy to get in. I’m only 5’6” and this sleeping bag fits me great I even have more room so people 6’ can fit as well. The zipper to open feels high quality and will be able to use multiple times.

Comfortable and Warm

After reading all of the incentivized reviews I purchased two of these sleeping bags for my kids. Now that we've used them I figured I'd post a review from somebody who isn't being paid to do so. We just got back from a camping trip in the sierras where the temps dropped into the high 30s. The bags kept both of my kids warm while wearing regular cotton pajamas. I gave the bag a test run as well and it was more than big enough for an adult (I'm 5'11"). We do most of our camping in late spring and summer so these bags should work well for us for a long time.

So Warm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this over the summer for my first time camping in several years. Coleman has always been my go to when searching for camping supplies this my first Coleman sleeping bag and I love it so roomy and comfortable. I have to say it might not fit all body types I’m 140lbs and I had some wiggle room but not a whole lot room… The fabric is 100% polyester so it’s made with great material with 30 F -1,1 C Ecotherm. The sleeping bag is expensive but I have to say it’s well worth the money to be comfortable while camping and get the best rest..
