Brim is Extremely Painful
I’m a mail carrier in upstate, NY. I saw these boots and figured they would be perfect!!!! Waterproof, attachable ice soles, and Boa lacing! Every carriers dream boot!! However- the top brim of the shoe where the fur is located, is extremely hard and dug into the top of my ankle after the first couple of hours of working. The second day of walking- it became unbearable. So, I left my route and went straight over to REI to exchange immediately to find some comfort. I now have bruising. I would definitely buy from this brand again because of the practicality, just not this style. Definitely not meant for long distance walking.
Great winter boots
I am an amputee so trying to find lightweight winter boots that will fit a prosthetic foot is extremely difficult. These boots fit beautifully. They keep my other foot warm. Love the BOA system. Knowing I will go through soles faster also makes these boots ideal as I can just change the soles when they go bad. No issues even after wearing them for 10+ hours.
Great boots for all conditions
I bought these boots 1 year ago and I wear them everyday outdoors when it is 40 degrees and below. I work in outdoor education so it is important to have boots I can walk in all day that will keep my feet warm and dry. I’ve went through ice to the top of the boots and still had dry feet. These boots are durable and I would definitely recommend them.
These Boots are Keepers!
The advice said to size up and this turned out to be accurate information. I take an 8 to 8 1/2 shoe but had to get a size 9 here. With double socks and sock liner, they fit perfectly and warm! I am a very difficult to fit foot, wide in the toebox. I love the lacing, now I don't to wear any other boots! As far as the traction, I had my chance to test on black ice walking. Truly, they still needed the Yak Traks for safety, but better than any of my other boots. I feel confident in any other weather condition.
Great on snow; not enough traction on ice
Good things about these boots: very good traction on snow, even climbing hills. Very warm. Lacing system is fabulously easy to use. Sizing is true to size. Usually I wear an 8.5, and this 8.5 is generous enough for thick socks, but not too big. Minuses: in the slippery, icy conditions of Jan 15 in Minneapolis, I slipped and nearly fell twice; the rubber cleats have poor grip on ice. They are tall and stiff, so take some breaking in, and hard to walk with a natural stride when new. I had to order the Korkers Ice Cleats with metal cleats.
Love the Boa laces. Very stiff sole
In trying a few different types of winter boots, I first tried the Korkers Women's Northlake Zip. This Snowmageddon is much better than the Northlake. The Boa laces are killer and the boot is very easy to get on and off. The only drawback is the sole is very stiff and thick. I was concerned that one review on the Korkers site mentioned that the ankle fluff can capture snow that then melts into the boot at the ankle. I haven't worn these outside in the snow, so I can't comment, but that seems undesirable.
Best winter boot I've ever had!
These boots are heavy-duty, emphasis on the heavy - they are clunky! But they are the best winter boots I've had, by far. The fit is fantastic, the fur interior is super comfy but still breathable, I am IN LOVE with the closure - it has made me loathe all of my boots with laces. And I'm obsessed with the ability to swap out the soles. My feet have never been cold wearing these, through multiple hour treks in sub-zero weather. Love them so much!
Best winter boots ever!
I’ve had these boots for a year and I often say that they’re the one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Paired with Icebreaker multisport light mini wool socks, these boots have kept my toes toasty warm while shoveling deep snow for hours at a time following Alaskan winter storms. The tread is great for providing traction in the snow. I have slipped on wet ice in these, so do yourself a favor and buy the swappable studded soles from the Korkers website so you can wear these boots on the ice too—after all, you got a boot with swappable soles for a reason, right? (Also be sure to look for the rebate offer on their website!) Oh, and I can’t forget about the BOA lacing system, which makes on/off a breeze. 😙👌 A note about sizing: I wear women’s size 8 Chaco sandals and size 9-9.5 in closed shoes (typically Vionic, Chaco, Birkenstock, or Dansko). I bought and returned these Korkers Snowmageddon boots in sizes 9 and 9.5 before I settled on size 10. They’re comfortably loose enough to wear with midweight wool socks and rigid orthotic arch support inserts under the Korkers standard insole.
Warmest boots by far!
These boots are super warm! The footbed is thick and the toe box is squared off, not sloped, so toes stay warm too! Very easy to put on and take off, much easier than boots with laces.
Best snow boots ever!!!
These are incredible! They're very easy to use and are super comfortable and keep my feet very warm, even in the coldest temperatures. Very, very highly recommend!
