I have only slept a couple nights, but this pad is very comfortable! Best investment in sleep systems I’ve made. Weight is fairly light. It doesn’t pack down as small as others, but it’s worth the sleep to bring it. It’s very easy to inflate, 5-7 breathes, but I usually deflate it quite a bit to get the perfect feel. I have issues with other pads that are too firm or don’t spread your weight out. This pad spreads my weight off of just my hips/lower back. The foam definitely helps spread the weight and add comfort and insulation. I couldn’t be happier with it. The top material is also very comfortable feeling as well. Top notch product!
Well we own two of these now and they are hands down over the competition period..... The rather unfortunate thing is the stuff sack stinks. Really guys have you tried getting this back into the stuff sack provided? The pad wins every time because it does not like being rolled up that small. What I've had to do is dig out my Therm a Rest stuff sacks and now I can roll the pad into one layer and it actually fits much better on the outside of a pack or in the trunk of a car. For the price of this pad you should include a second sack similar to the competition after that I doubt anyone could find fault with this sleeping pad. Cheers
I bought the regular size comfort plus self inflating. I have been sleeping on it for about 2 years each night at home and on the trail. Fantastic comfort. Sleep like a baby. Each night I can't wait to lie down on the floor. One day a week, I leave the valve open all day to allow it to return to original shape. What more can I say? Does a fantastic job without any noise or hot spots or soft spots. Seems to be extremely rugged and able to handle daily use without putting a blanket over it for protection. One thing I do is never lie down with anything sharp or even metal. I hope you have the same experience with this product. Thanks for reading, Kindest regards, Tom
I love this sleeping pad. Very very comfortable. I had my best night's sleep while backpacking ever. I am 6'3" 210lb. - the extra thickness was perfect for me. The wide width (25") was just right for my shoulders. The no-slip grip on top and bottom kept me in position, even on a slight incline. The pad rolls into a compact size and the stuff sack gives just the right amount of compression without making it impossible to pull it back out again (looking at you, Thermarest). It might not be for the ounce-counters or thru-hikers, but for a 1-4 day trip, the great night's sleep makes up for the little bit of extra weight.
I purchased this pad over a year ago, I used it a few times, it developed leaks all over. I attempted to patch it, but more leaks came in different areas. I reached out to the warranty department, because supposedly there is a lifetime guarantee, and they essentially ghosted me. Just did not respond. I do not recommend this product, I also don’t recommend this company, and I very much find it disturbing when companies say they have a lifetime warranty as a sales tool and then don’t stand behind it or make it so difficult to get in touch with them and exercise the warranty that it’s basically worthless.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is core to my river trips or sleeping in my 4Runner. I either put a small tarp underneath or on my cot when on the ground. Self inflates fast. Comfortable and I dig the bag it comes in. Takes a little time to roll up in the morning but completely worth it for how fast it sets up and is so compact. You need to keep it uncompressed when storing so be sure to have a place for it. Mine fits in the back of my closet landscape. Biggest pro: My original one fell victim to a sharp piece of metal when I was moving. Warranty kicked in and with no complaints S2S staff reached out (even talked to me on the phone) and replaced it fast - complete with shipping label for return. Way to go S2S!
These mats have completely changed our camping experience. They are amazingly comfortable, easy to fill, and have given our family of four a great night’s sleep on several distanced camping adventures this past summer. Prior to these mats, everyone was a bit reluctant to get in the car and go camping, but after purchasing these there were no more complaints. The self-inflating function is very good, and it only takes a few minutes to get each mat fully inflated and ready to go. They also deflate well and take up minimal space. Yes, they are a bit expensive, but they are worth every penny.
As two other people have mentioned, it only took a couple of nights before it was deflated by morning. We just tested it in water yesterday and found one pad had a bad leak by the plug and several leaks around it, at the seams. The other pad had numerous pinholes on the surface of the pad, by the feet (like the other person mentioned). Really depressing as we haven't even had these pads a year and they aren't cheap! One positive comment is that they are really comfortable when properly inflated and stay that way. Now trying a different brand. :(
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thought this mat was going to be very comfortable and it is. But to achieve the best support and warmth rating it needs to be fully inflate. It is still comfortable but as a side sleeper It feels a lot like a balloon in that it doesn’t cradle the hips and makes you feel like you want to roll forwards or backwards, like it’s very bouncy. Deflate it a bit and it really starts to feel good but then hips start to touch ground. Mat needs some dimpling or something to get rid of rounding feeling. It’s a comfortable mat at the top tier of comfort but mats like the boundry deluxe seems more comfortable because of the dimpling cradled the body better. If it’s a warm night and you can let some air out it’s good. I’m 6 4” 220-230. If you are lighter you will do better.
Coming a theramrest dream time mattress and the sea to summit to summit comfort deluxe, this version is the best backing friendly inflatable mattress that doesn’t compromise comfort. Sleep is the best thing for recovering the a day of adventure and preparing the body to enjoy the next day. This mat does a great job in providing a plush barrier to the ground and supporting you no matter how you toss and turn. Tip: when winter camping or car camping, I tent to bring a close foam mattress to aid in the warmth retention.
