Couldn't Quite Withstand A Rainy 3hr Iceland Hike

This is a decent jacket that worked relatively well as an outer layer for my trip to Iceland. However, when we got caught in a moderate rain during a 3 hr hike, the jacket just couldn't keep me dry towards the end of the hike. It held up for the first hour or two, but by the third hour it was pretty damp on the interior. At no point was the rain heavy, it was mostly on and off and light for the first two hours. But the last hour was a steady & moderate rain. I still love this jacket, though, and it's great for quick hikes in misty conditions and waterfall visits. But it's not something I would recommend for a longer rainy hikes.

Great rain jacket at a very nice price

I really needed to get a "real" rain jacket for hiking. I'd been making due with emergency ponchos or wind breakers that didn't keep the rain out for more than a few minutes. This jacket was on clearance and (as usual) the color and size choices were limited. But I found one in my size and in a color that wasn't too bad. The jacket itself fits really well and keeps me dry without becoming a sauna suit.

Not 100% waterproof

First time using this jacket, doing some light yard work in the rain several spots absorbed moisture and wicked it inside. Disappointing for the cost of this jacket.

Not up to par.

Lacks finer points. I needed a rain jacket to replace my old jacket. This one looked good and fit well. I read the reviews prior to my visit and the sleeves were too long, I thought I could live with that. I wear a fleece jacket with hood for colder weather. The sleeves are too long, but worse than that, not adjustible. Sizing was good for length and mesh lining which I prefer in rain jackets. There is also no brim on the hood making it difficult to see once it is secured on your head. No pit zips for ventilation but that was available on a more expensive model, with no mesh lining. Bottom line, I gave the jacket away to a friend and bought an REI jacket with all the features I wanted at a sale price. Not for seasoned outdoor people, even at half price.

Excellent lightweight rain jacket.

Great fit and lightweight, and the hood is a nice size for my large head. Feels like there is plenty of room for a sweater without feeling oversized. Glad I didn't go up a size, this fits wonderfully. The other reviews really helped me with my decision and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Good rain hoodie. Worth the price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned this jacket for a few weeks now and it does it's job. I was kind of in between sizes: XL and XXL. I went with the larger one as the sleeves on the XL were a tad short... but the body of the XXL is a tad big. At least I can layer it easier. I don't understand the draw strings at the bottom. Who cinches a raincoat? It gets hot enough in a rain coat, let alone trapping that heat in. It wasn't a deal breaker, I can certainly remove them by pulling them through. The only other knock I have on the coat is that the hood strings bounce in your face if you're running with the coat on... seemed kind of an odd placement. But those two minor things aside, the coat is great; it looks and fits well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice rain jacket. Used it very much on our recent trip to Iceland. Stylish looking and fit me very well. Initially bought one size bigger but it was easy to exchange.
