I have this Napsack with me on a very chilly fall camping trip. It’s been the best thing in the world to be able to cuddle up with it by the camp fire while still having my arms free. I have worn it in a freezing cold morning camp while making coffee and breakfast, when it was just too cold to face the outdoors otherwise. Its keeping me warm for restaurants between hikes… it’s wonderful.
The Good -- Love that it's reversible. The hood added more warmth than I expected. Pockets galore. I stayed in a yurt (40 degrees outside) and was super cozy in this. The Bad -- No sleeves (which could also be good, depending on the situation). Mine had A LOT of loose threads. I'm petite with curves, so I got a medium -- it's too big in some spots and has almost no give in others. Final judgement -- The good definitely outweighs the bad. I hate sleeping bags, but I love weird. It's fun. It's cozy. And there are tons of colors to choose from. Go get one!
I bought the reversible Napsack, on sale, for a September 2022 trip to Canyonlands NP because my heavy down bag would have been too much. I used it in a Tungsten 1P tent through light rains and 55 degree nights and was totally comfortable. The zippers and pockets were well placed and useful, as was the ability to open the drawstring foot and walk around while still "in the bag." The Napsack is a great lightweight alternative to a classical mummy-type sleeping bag for moderate-to-cool temperature sleeping. You can sleep in it, or even on it if it's warm enough outside.
I saw this napsack on sale and thought it would be perfect for lounging in on cold winter nights, and would make a perfect sleeping bag for summer time and overnight trips to friends homes. I purchased two knowing that my "always feels cold" wife would take over something like this and I would never get to use it myself. It has fit my/our needs perfectly, and it's a darn good thing I got two. My wife practically lives in hers. The only con I have is that it's a bit constricting in the shoulder area when completly zipped up as a sleeping bag. This hasn't been a problem for sleeping in warm weather, as the sack is warm enough that I usually need to open the zipper(s) to control the temp, but might be an issue if its cold out and you need to fully zip it up.
I purchased the size that I thought would fit me according to the description.Unfortunately the bag is so narrow around the shoulders that I couldn't move and it was it difficult to zip it up. It's ok when my arms are out through the openings
A mom at my daughter's softball game had one of these. I asked, "this might be weird, but also not...what is that?" She explained that her husband had bought her the Napsack for mother's day (married a winner, she did), and that she mostly uses it for campfires, soccer games, football games, softball games...any of those sports that we all *love* spending our Saturdays watching the swarms of small humans fumble around in some semblance of athletic greatness...or not. While our daughters scampered through a rainy June softball game in CO, I hopped on my 5G and put in an order for store pickup. When asked, "how are you doing today" at pickup, I replied, "Ridiculously excited." I took it home, and it has held up to all my hopes. My comfortable temp setting is between 68-85. I get cold in A/C. I spent the afternoon doing grad work on our deck, snuggled quite pleasantly in my "mobile bear burrito" as my husband calls it. I took a deliciously refreshing nap on the couch before dinner. I was temped to even eat dinner in it, but my husband's judgmental looks led me to decide to not risk spills (though it's easily machine washable). I love it. My husband thinks I'm crazy. But when he no longer hears my complaints about the cold, I'm sure he'll come around. If not, I guess I'll be warm and snug while I browse the dating apps. Thank you, fellow softball mom. This will change my life.
One of the greatest items for hanging around the campsite, sleeping, working from home, laying on the couch... you never have to get out of this thing! Not only is it a functional tool for camping and having a nice sleeping bag, but you can literally wear it to restaurants or the grocery store too. One of the best conversation starters as well. Love my napsack!
Love this Napsack and don't have anything like it! Our family started weekly bonfires during Covid and the tradition continues. The Napsack keeps me comfy because and I can cinch it up and still be mobile. Everyone is always jealous of how cozy I am so I have decided this is going to be the perfect gift for the holidays!!
This product is fun for hanging post surf session or just lounging around the house. More poler stuff please!
It's got a hood, pockets, zippers at arm holes, and a cinch around the leg opening so you can hike it up for lounging around the campfire or close it up in your tent at nite. LOVE IT!
