Not waterproof
These gloves did not meet my expectations. They advertised as waterproof: "waterproof BD.dryâ„¢ inserts keep your hands dry and comfortable." My first (and only) outing with these gloves was a 9 mile out and back hike in Alaska's Chugach Mountains. It was mid-August, ~40F, raining steadily, but not a downpour, and a consistent ~30mph wind. In about 2 hours the gloves wetted out. The outside doesn't seem to have any DWR treatment to prevent soaking up moisture and the membrane, I learned later (DB.dry) is only rated to 10,000 mm, which is rated for "Light rain, average snow, light pressure." Once soaked the gloves are virtually impossible to put on, especially with numb fingers. These gloves are not suitable for cold wet conditions.
Love It
Been using this glove for ice climbing and skiing and absolutely love it. It's a great mid weight glove with plenty of dexterity.
Not Sure
I just returned from an ice climbing class in Canada. On my way out to the class I purchased a pair of Arc gloves. They were size medium and fit very snug but the problem began when I started my class. Once the gloves became moist from perspiration and I removed them, it was almost impossible to put them back on because the glove lining would bind up and turn semi inside out. It got to the point that I just started using my partners gloves instead when climbing and he used ski gloves to belay. Seems like a lot of money for gloves I can not use.
not warm
I really can’t believe these gloves have Thinsulate. The first time I wore them in 20+ degree weather, my fingers were frozen within 10 minutes of starting my walk. At 20 minutes I had to take the gloves off and warm my hands in my inner pockets in order to operate my binoculars and camera. I will try to return them, if not they go in the trash. Worthless!
Best fit for my hands
I've lost count of the gloves I have tried on and bought for ice climbing and general light winter activities. These finally hit the mark of tight fit for dexterity yet loose enough to make a fist without seams or material rubbing the knuckles raw. I haven't put them through a full winter yet, but I am very hopeful they will hit the spot.
Third pair
This is my third pair of these gloves – love 'em. I use them mainly for backcountry skiing, and with a pair of thin liners they are warm enough for me into the low 20's. Dry too. I get about 120 days out of them before patching holes and/or retiring them to less critical applications.
Great Gloves
Arcs are a great lightweight option with excellent dexterity and grip. I certainly recommend them as a mid-season option or for active outings in the winter. Fit in a large is great and consistent. Lining hangs little bit but once your hand gets in there there are not issues.
Comfortable Gloves phenomenal tactile feedback
These gloves are well built and durable. I bought my first pair in 8 years ago and I finally wore them out and I used them a lot. I just purchased my second pair. Awesome gloves that will not let you down and they are good all arounders, super comfortable.
Really versatile piece of kit
I've worn these on winter climbing days, cold slushy/snowy biking days, runs, skis, you name it. They've held up to everything so far with ease. Hands have stayed warm and dry without fail thus far across a pretty broad temp range (-15C - 0C).
Light, dexterous, warm
Wore these up Rainer, surprisingly warm for their weight and size. Resisted to wetting out or collecting snow. Was able to complete reasonable fine motor skills. Switched to a heavier over glove when the winds hit 40+ near the summit.
