I would love to give these a 5 star, they almost made it there...they fit great for my foot and are very comfortable on long hikes. Last weekend I noticed the sole coming apart from the side of the shoe. I am afraid that this will void the waterproof asset that was promised. I purchased these in April 2023 (only 3 months ago) and have worn them hiking a good handful of times. I haven't used them in any manner that would result in this defect; only hiking which I assumed they could and should be able to handle. Please see photos of the issue. If possible, I'd like to see if the warranty would issue a new pair.
I have a narrow foot and a high arch, and am prone to plantar fasciitis...and these boots are a dream! I have walked at least 30 miles in these already through muddy and rocky trails and have not had to add insoles yet. They keep my ankles stable too which helps a lot with uneven terrain. I have tried so many brands before and none of them come close to the comfort and support I get with my Danner boots. They are truly waterproof and warm, and the upper cleans up really well with warm water. I ordered a half size up to fit heavy socks and insoles, but would stick with my usually size next time. Get these!
I’m a dancer fan. Love their comfort and style, but these shoes have a MAJOR design flaw and that’s the faux Reinforced toe. my husband and I bought danners both with the same toe. We went on 1 moderate hike with 2 minor scrambles and we scuffed the toe ( to be expected) and the toe area that is black came right off on both our boots. We returned them for boots with actual toe protection.
This is the most I’ve spent on hiking boot, and as it turns out, it’s totally worth it. I wore them on a 10mi hike with my 30lb pack and didn’t have ANY discomfort until toward the end. By that point I think my feet were just plain tired. I don’t know how it’s possible, but they’re extremely comfortable as well as supportive. I’ll be wearing them on the Trans-Catalina Trail at the end of the month and am so happy to know that I won’t have to worry about my feet.
These boots are cute and super comfortable right out of the box. The traction isn't the best for super steep slopes, but that wasn't a deal breaker. What WAS a deal breaker, and caused me to return the boots, is that the tongue isn't waterproof (despite the rest of the boot being waterproof). Big design flaw! When I was walking through tall wet grass the tongue quickly soaked through, leaving my socks damp. I've owned many waterproof hiking boots in my life (Lowa, Keen, Vasque...) and have never had a similar issue.
I bought these for my 10yr old in a size 6 and she loved them! She thought they looked great and there were no complaints whatsoever. She was able to just enjoy the trails and not worry about footwear while we were enjoying Idaho.
These fit really well, could wear thick socks without doing uncomfortable things to my toes. The sizing seems big, I’d usually get a size 7.5 for any kind of non street shoe, but got these in 7 and I had plenty of toe room. I took these camping, did some walking but no real hiking. Although they are comfortable and supportive the ankle area rubbed my skin pretty raw. Thought it might be my new wool socks, but I’m going to risk a short hike. I bought three hiking boots, and they all seem kinda bad. I will probably return them all and stick with my busted runners.
I survey in these and they are incredibly grippy and lightweight. But holy moly are they hot and sweaty. My feet can't breathe in them at all. Also I have VERY narrow feet. While I was able to lace these enough to keep them from moving around, they are too bulky for recreational hiking. They are fine for survey as they are big and burly...but don't have the minimalism I crave on my off time. Because they are so big and burly, they are sufficiently padded for me to work. They'd be a good boot for someone with foot problems. I've worked an 11 hour day in them with no complaints. But narrow they are not. If you want narrow, precise, and very lightweight, I'm partial to my Vasque Breeze LTs. Not the Breeze itself lol. But the LTs are fabulous!
This is one of the most comfortable hiking boots I’ve ever owned. The sole is not as thick as some of the boots I’m used to, (Vasque St. Elias) but these boots are very lightweight. Excellent for day hikes, I even did a trail run and they performed well. Feet remained dry when crossing Salt River. Stylish as well. Would not recommend for snow, these are not insulated and will not be warm wnough Pick your street shoe size, I wear 7.5 for sneakers, picked 7.5 for these and they fit well even with merino wool socks on. Would
Bought a pair of these without having tried them on in store, and was a bit anxious because shoes always fit so differently brand to brand. Well, they turned out great. They were TTS, and didn’t need any time breaking in. Went on a decent hike with them straight out of the box and had no blisters, no discomfort, and had steady support all the way through. So happy I got them. They are super cute without making your feet look too bulky, and provide great ankle support!
