This pair of shoes should never have made it past quality control. The left boot fits fine. The right boot has issues. The inside fit at the flex point is severely binding. I used a string to measure the width of the left boot vs right boot. The right boot was narrower by 1/4 inch. The tongue of the right boot is made from a longer piece of material as well. The combination of narrower width and more material to bunch up at the toe creates a painful problem with every step taken. I should have paid more attention when I took them out of the box. The cardboard insert from the right boot was crushed. It had to have been forced into the narrower toe area at the factory. Another problem is that the arch support on the right boot is too far back towards the heel. This can be seen as well. The foot bed insert sits higher up the inside of the boot than the insert of the left boot. I would expect a full refund on this purchase. I am wearing the Merrell Moab shoes I purchased 5 years ago. This pair from day one out of the box has been the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Please make this right.

There were some critical reviews of these shoes which made me hesitant to order. Specifically, several comments about the shoes being narrow for wider feet. Thankfully though I’ve not experience any of the issues others have stated. I found the shoes comfortable and plenty wide. I purchased these to replace an old pair of hiking boots and some more hardy cold weather shoes. It is taking awhile getting used to walking in these as they are indeed hiking shoes which make them less comfortable if you’re walking around on hard surfaces. But with that said they are comfy enough that it’s not a big deal overall.
I was extremely satisfied with the comfort and traction this shoe offered. Unfortunately the front toe area where the seam is started to rip open and now has a huge hole.

I really wanted to like these shoes but the second I put them on, I was shocked at how tight they were compared to similar Merrells from 5 years ago that I was replacing. Toe box aside they also felt tight compared to most size 12s I wear, where I'm not even sure a 13 would work. I'm not at all saying don't buy them, just be wary of sizing if you can't try them on in a store
The shoe is comfortable but as title indicates, there is a ton of 'heel slip.' In the store, I thought this was just because of a stiff sole and would simply wear in with time and conform better to my foot. That has not happened and I'm left with a shoe that moves around considerably on my heel. The shoe fit is good (these aren't too large) both length and width and I've tightened them as much as I can; unfortunately, nothing seems to resolve the issue.
Was looking for something to beat around in during a Wisconsin winter. Odd fit. Plenty of room in the toe box, snug in the mid foot, but my heel can't stay in the shoe. I put the lace through the second hole and tied them as tight as I could...my heel still wanted to pop out every step. Cushioning isn't the best, most Merrell hikers I've tried on have the cushioning of a 2x4 strapped to your foot. The sole width on these are on the narrow side. Between this and the rubber being rock hard, I didn't feel fully confident walking down a snowy sidewalk. I gave it a few days hoping maybe they'd get better after a brief break in period, but am left disappointed and stuck with a shoe that is basically useless to me. Will donate to the local salvation army or goodwill.
I bought the Mens shoes for a wider fit and Gortex because I wanted all-weather shoes to travel and hike. Unfortunately I nearly fell on a wet cobbled roadway in London and very slippery on some stone steps. Whenever it had been raining in London, I couldn't wear the shoes so I was very apprehensive wearing them at all. The grip is very disappointing. I notice that I am not the only one with this experience. Unfortunate as I find them very comfortable and waterproof.
I picked up a pair of these Zions when I first seen they were coming out. For me they were comfortable right out of the box. The textile feeling of the material itself gives you the impression that they’ll be pretty abrasion resistant. Some days I’m on my feet for 10+ hours and so far with these my feet have not yet ached. The tread on the bottom is quite sticky, I can’t speak for longevity yet but they are providing great traction so far. I actually have been enjoying this shoe so much I bought a second pair. The only complaint I have is the colors are deceptive. My guess is when they took the pictures of the shoe for the website the lighting that was used lead me to believe that the shoes were slightly lighter in color. When both pairs of these shoes arrived they were way darker than the photo lead me to believe.
These shoes are as comfortable as one would expect from Merrell. This issue I found with them is that the soles started to wear VERY quickly after I purchased them. Within 2-3 months the soles were worn down a lot, like almost halfway. I don't even wear them every day. Typically Merrell shoes wear very slowly. I've had some that have lasted many years. Unfortunately these ones won't stand the test of time.
My first pair of Merrells was a high top version which were great for long hikes, but I wanted something that I didn't need to wear long socks with for shorter weekend trips. These fit the bill so far. I think they will get even more comfortable once I have put some more miles on them. They have excellent grip and feel very durable. If I need more hiking boots, I'll be back to Merrell.
