Best lid for me and my Yeti Ramblers
I now have a Yeti Colster, 26oz Rambler and 12oz Rambler w/Hotshot Cap and love them all. The wife has the Wine Tumbler :) When I bought my 26er I added the Straw Cap at time of purchase for one-handed convenience. Worked great and I loved it for a while, then it bothered me a bit with the loud airy/wheezy noises it made while drinking as well as the wet inner backpack due to it leaking from the one-way valve. Not so one way after all. So I recently got the 12er with the Hotshot cap and absolutely love the combo. On a whim I tried the Hotshot Cap on my 26er and really love the way it works with cold water as well as with hot coffee in the smaller Rambler. The flow is perfect. You won't get a sudden splash to the face while driving, burning your lip or mouth and at the same time you can tip it back and let it flow. I will miss the grab handle on the Straw Cap, but my hands are big enough to handle it with ease. There are handle options for those with smaller paws :)
Best for HOT drinks
Excellent addition and reducer of lost liquid if fallen over or rough water/ roads.
Love this HotShot Cap
I absolutely love this HotShot Cap. I first purchased one when I ordered the HotShot Rambler in the 12 oz size because it fit my single serve Keurig Cup Coffee maker. Once I realized it also fit my other Rambler Water Bottles, I was so excited. I can use my bigger Water Bottles with this HotShot Cap and not worry if I toss it in a bag or lay it on a seat, it won't leak water all over the place. Now, whenever I order a Rambler Bottle as a gift, I add the HotShot Cap as an extra accessory.
Leakproof but....
I had to scroll thru the reviews to find out why I can't get it to open/pop up like in the video. I was sure I had the wrong lid. I must have watched that thing a dozen times. There's no way I can grab the little handle. It's short, it's slippery and there's nothing to grab onto. Would someone explain it to me? At the bottom of this, it asks if I would recommend Yeti to a friend. The answer is YES to the drinkware but NO to this lid.
Inner component stripped, no longer seals
I bought this for my mom a few months ago to make her travel mug more convenient to use at work when she has only a few seconds to take a sip at a time (she works in healthcare). The inner component has stripped somehow so it no longer screws into the larger lid securely to prevent leaking. Her number one priority with coffee mugs is that they absolutely must be leak-proof. For a Yeti product, I'm surprised the plastic isn't stronger. We went through a couple different Yeti mugs to find one that worked for her needs so I'm disappointed that the setup we put together didn't last more than a few months. I hope this is an outlier and not a common experience with this product.
We would love to get that HotShot Cap replaced for you. Poor construction / quickly wore out/brokedown
Let me say this first, I Iove YETI products. I own a Yeti Tumbler, a few Ramblers, a Tundra 35 cooler and a Roadie cooler and they are all well-made products. But I purchased a Hotshot cap for my stainless Rambler a few months ago and it practically disintegrated in what I thought was a very short period of time. Within just a few months of daily use, the plastic ring on the bottom of the lid cracked, flaked, and then ultimately fell off, rendering the lid useless (unless you want plastic flakes in your coffee...) I was very disappointed with its performance given how all my other Yeti products have performed, and while this has not turned me off to Yeti entirely, I would not recommend anyone buy this lid.

sips from any side.
nice little hotshot lid from yeti. i like how you can just turn the knob and then sip from any side. the only drawback is that it doesn’t have a handle.
Not durable
The threads are marred up from taking off the inner cap to clean. I’m sure plastic is getting into my water now so I stopped using it.
Thought it was a good idea
I thought this lid seemed like a great idea. But, since having it and using it multiple times I'm disappointed and have now stopped using it. I thought it would be great to be able to drink out of any area of the cap, but there are certain ways to drink out of it that the cap hits my nose. That's not comfortable. Also, because I have no idea if it's open or closed I have spilled it at least three times into my bag - once into my purse, once into my school bag and once into my back pack. After the third spill I put it in the cupboard, probably to never be used again. Sorry Yeti. Even if it's user error, it's not worth it to me to use this product.
Easy
I prefer the hotshot lid to all other Yeti lids. One easy piece with outa lot of guss. It does come apart to clean.
