HOW TO MEASURE:
Neck: Around the fullest part of the neck, at the base.
Chest: Around the chest, just under the arms and across the shoulder blades.
Sleeve: From the center back of the neck, across the shoulder, and down the arm to the wrist.
Waist: Around the narrowest part of the waist.
Hip: Around the widest point of the hips.
Inseam: From the crotch to the anklebone on the inside of the leg.

Functional; scratchy
Fabric is a very stretchy and abrasion resistant knit, like thick tights. Stays put under my climbing harness, sort of like tights for your upper body. The color 'Azul" is more bluish than blue-green but very nice. Dries fast. The hood is functional, not floppy and ornamental. It's good for runs, skate skiing, winter gym and outdoor climbing, biking. Only downside is the inner surface is scratchy, as others have mentioned. The outside surface is smoother. My skin got a bit irritated when I wore this all day. Would buy a second shirt if not for the scratchy inner surface. Maybe it will soften up with use?
decent, thin hoodie
I got this because I liked the crux bra so much. I like the weight of it, it is warm enough, but won't make me sweat like crazy. Good for warm ups or fall/spring temps. A couple things I would change, the fit is okay, but not great. It is tight in the forearms but not the biceps, and it is more fitted in the shoulders so you get like a baggy part in front of your armpit which is a little weird. also the drawstrings only tighten the tiny section under your chin... also a bit weird. But overall, pretty fine still. I am 5'7" and 120lbs, ordered a small.
Love this little hoodie!
I bought this in the spring and it has been my go to hoodie all summer. It’s small enough to roll up and stick in a bag but just enough of a layer to take away the chill of a summer night or an over air conditioned place. It will be going with me to our hiking trip in the U.P. in a week. For reference I’m 4’11” 130 lbs and I bought a size Small. The sleeves are just a hair long but the thumb holes make it so the sleeves aren’t annoying. Beautiful red color too. This is my first Black Diamond product but I would definitely recommend.
Not really a hoodie, more of a top
I was thinking this would be a nice hoodie but it's more on the thinner side. It does feel quite nice and is very well made. This is my first Black Diamond clothing item and I am pleased with it; however, like stated before, it's more of a top not really a hoodie. I live in Alabama, where it doesn't get very cold, so I'll be fine with it.

This light weight hoodie has been a staple in my wardrobe. Perfect for chilly crags, early morning summer hikes, and for layering up in the snow!
Not made for large people
I'd love to buy this hoodie but your sizing stops at large. Fat people like cute outdoorsy clothes too!
The solution to the hoody crux
I am always searching for the perfect hoody. Of course, I have high expectations. I want a legit piece of outdoor apparel that I can count on when participating in one (or more) of the many outdoor sports I love, whether it be splitboarding , trail running or mountain biking. The hoody is light weight and stretchy enough I don't get hot too quickly, the sleeves can even be pushed back to allow more breathability. But when it gets chilly, the scuba-neck and hood can be synched down around your face . The thumb holes help provide hand protection making this hoody transition well from summer to shoulder season. Finally, it looks nice enough to wear it out to dinner in your trendy mountain town of choice. The style and fit is flattering a and the colorways are fantastic (I have it in azul)
Beautiful base layer
Perfect base layer with a hood to protect your ears and neck. Stretchy and fitted but not too tight. I would stay it runs slightly big
Great product, would change a couple things though
As a curvy, pear shaped lady, this product fits me a little weird. Big on top, tight on hips. Story of my life. However, it is stretchy enough that it works. Fits pretty true to size. I am in between a medium and large and went with the large for hip/bum stretch. The product is thicker than I thought as BD used to carry an earlier version of this that was lighter weight. Color and design are flattering.
Crux hoodie is a MUST
This hoodie is perfect in so many ways. I’m a climber, runner, weight lifter and student; this hoodie works for literally anything. It fits to size - and the arms aren’t too long! The hoodie itself is also incredible - it doesn’t smash your face, but still stays on your head while giving you room to breathe. The fabric is SO STRETCHY it’s absolutely amazing to wear. It’s totally worth the price.
