A Cooler With A Purpose

I bought this cooler to use on short trips with my friends and family to keep provisions cool. Having owned other Yeti products, I had no doubt that the quality and performance of this product would be unparalleled. I was able to fill the cooler with drinks and ice, go on a day long trip out on the lake, and come back with a cooler that was still full of ice. The HitchPoint system is second to none and a great way to expand the utility of your cooler through the Hopper SideKick and Molle Zinger. I have both accessories and could not love the functionality of my cooler any more than I already do.

Not working hard for the money

This cooler is just OK. It functions well enough as a cooler, but not for $300. I bought a yeti tundra 75 and some yeti ice recently and that’s my feeling on all Yeti products. They work well, but not so much better than other products that they warrant the price. Ok, back to this cooler. I understand it’s a “soft” cooler but it’s this nebulous state between hard and soft. It’s not malleable enough to be squished in the back of my truck but then it’s not sturdy enough to stack anything on that weighs more than 10lbs or so. The outer covering seems to be some electrically charged material like a Swiffer because it literally sucks up all dirt within a 5 foot radius. And it’s doesnt clean well. You can’t just rinse off all that dirt it just so readily absorbed, this bad boy has to be scrubbed. And the much touted ability to keep ice colder longer, eh, it works better than the free cooler bag I got from my hospital for nurses week but not much better than a soft off brand cooler I bought at Target.

Faulty zipper

My son gave me this cooler for Father's day and I've only used it a few times and the teeth on the zipper started turning sideways and eventually breaking off. Very disappointed in the cooler especially for the cost of it.

Excellent cooler

Awesome cooler - my previous cooler from a reputable brand leaked. It was less expensive, but lacked quality. The Yeti covers quality, durability, and functionality to perfection.

Not too heavy or big..perfect

I purchased this due to it being a great size and then much lighter than the coolers. I have a couple hard coolers but they can get pretty heavy when loaded up. I am a 49 yo women in good shape but they still can get heavy. I wanted this for the strap to carry with. Not disappointed. Love the charcoal color and the size is perfect for weekend getaways and taking on the boat. The zippers on these are harder to work but they are heavy duty and nothing will leak. Highly recommend !

Looks good but sadly did not perform well

I bought this Friday, put ice in the cooler overnight, and the ice was 80% melted by morning ( in an air conditioned environment). Took it camping the next day, used tons of ice, precooled canned beverages, and a frozen gel block, and closed it securely every time I got something out, and kept it in the shade. Left it out overnight in 50 degree F weather, and by morning, the ice was 85% melted, meanwhile, the cheap Walmart standard cooler kept ice at about 50%. This is a nice looking cooler and I love the size, but I can't justify spending this kind of money on a cooler that performs the same as a $25 Walmart cooler. Needless to say I will return.

Mind Blowing Cooler!!

I was extremely skeptical about this cooler, and very hesitant because of the price. Very happy I took the leap of faith. I don’t know how this thing does it but it keeps ice longer than any cooler I’ve owned. The attached pic is the day after a trip on my friends boat. 26 hours after I first packed it. 85% of the ice was still there and there was less than 1” of water on the bottom. I followed the instructions and prechilled it with some ice packs for a few hours before use, then used fresh ice packs and ice. Beers stayed ice cold and some of the bottled water I had in there was actually partially frozen. I’ve never seen that before. Can’t say enough about this thing. Great product!
