2-year backpacking trip tested! LOVE IT!
I've lived in this bag for 2 years traveling all around the world! China, India, Italy, +50 others! It's been an incredible journey with the most trusty backpack! It's been through, 30+ backpacking trips across rivers and up mountains. Through rain, snow, ice climbing, gear, sanddunes, and more. Through years of daily use and it miraculously still looks and feels great! I can't recommend it enough. Sleek enough to cruise around NYC or Tokyo, to on the trail in Ecuador. You'll love it! LOVE this backpack!!!
I live overseas and I'm super excited to use this backpack. I needed a good pack for hiking, traveling on weekends, traveling via budget airlines, and also traveling back to the US. Everything is just like the pictures online said. I love how the straps feel and I know that will help distribute the weight of the pack. The straps around the pack easily cinch down if you aren't packing it full. There are several handle options that are very practical. The pockets are all very useful and convenient. I love the "duffel bag" style of the big zipper section. My favorite thing is that you can zip the straps away and hide them, turning the backpack into a duffel - with handles or shoulder strap! I'm 5'9" and 150 pounds and bought a women's S/M. I can't wait to use this backpack and am looking forward to the many adventures!
Great backpack!
I got this bag to replace my carry on travel backpack. I love how the side compression flaps cover the zippers for added UV protection and from other people. I love how the back zipper goes all the way down the side! I am 5'5 and ft tbe s/m pack and the hip straps fit like a glove! It also has ample room for my flag patches! A great replacement for my 33L hotshot Nothface. I had that bag for 7 years and my friend had it for years before that. I really hope this backpack shows its stuff and lasts!
3 pairs of shoes and 3 weeks of clothes!
I traveled in Europe for 3 weeks for a professional conference and personal travel with just this backpack. I managed to stuff all my professional and leisure clothes into packing cubes in this backpack with a pair of flats buckled into sandals, one show on each side of the smaller packing cube, and then I stuffed my tennis shoes in the outer compartments (stuffed with socks) and criss crossed the outer straps to secure the shoes with an additional jacket stuffed between them. I got so many compliments from amazed travelers with huge suit cases when they saw me walking around with ease using just this backpack. It is the perfect size. Fit in all overhead airplane compartments with no issues (Delta/Air France and Alitalia, and several trains). I also love all the clipping points on the exterior. I clipped in a water bottle, neck pillow, and compact day pack.
2 WEEKS, 1 PACK!
Just completed a 2 week trip to Japan with this backpack and I don't have anything negative to say about it! I've rode with 4 different airline carriers and this backpack has been considered carry-on compliant for them all. This pack has so many pockets and sections which makes keeping your things organized super easy. The top pocket is the perfect size for your liquids and allows for easy access to them when going through TSA. I found the straps to be very comfortable even after wearing the pack for a long period of time. I suggest trying on the pack in-store so that you can see what size is most comfortable on you. All in all if your planning on traveling carry-on only this pack is the perfect choice! I was surprised by how much I can stuff into this 40-L bag.
Perfect for short trips around the States
i travel a fair amount for work, mostly 3-5 day trips. i used to always use a carry on roller suitcase, but got frustrated with how easily they broke, how uncomfortable they were to pull and even worse to put up overhead on a plane. this is the perfect solution, as the pack is really comfortable to carry, easy to toss overhead and fits the perfect amount of clothing for a week-long work trip. plus, i love that the straps stow away when not in use. i've now taken three trips with it, including two on crutches, and will never go back to using a roller suitcase for carry-on (i use a big purse for my laptop and reading material). i'm sure it will be equally amazing for climbing trips.
Fabulous carry on size pack
I am now an Osprey convert. After traveling in Europe for nearly 3 wks this pack still looks new. Exceptionally comfortable, adjustable and well designed. Internal frame is light sturdy ad distributes weight well. It is amazing how much you can stuff in this pack. I was able to pack enough clothes for 18 day trip, 2 pairs of shoes, my large fanny pack for day hiking and even fit in a few small presents to bring home. Forget the bulky awkward roller bags. This pack was easy to wear even waiting in line nearly an hour to go through passport control and I am an old lady. Fits easily in overhead bin an even under seat if not overstuffed like mine was. Love the beautiful teal green color too. Easy to spot but also easy on the eyes.
Great Carry-on for Abroad Travel
I took this with me to the UK for about 3 weeks on a research/vacation trip. It was so nice to have a compact item I did not have to check on the major airplanes, and therefore avoid fees (I did not use any small companies with different baggage limits like RyanAir). Plus, being able to store the backpack straps ensured they never got caught in TSA's conveyer belts. All of my items I needed fit, plus several things I bought while there. Underground travel was super convenient with the small but substantial pack. I love that it opens all the way like a suitcase, plus had pockets for papers and my iPad. Just make sure to evenly distribute the weight or else heavy loads can get uncomfortable for long periods of time.
Perfect lightweight travel backpack
I was looking for an inbetween sized bag to join my team of bags. I have used a 60L Gregory Deva and a Swiss army backpack in the past and they just didn’t work. I took this bag on a 12 day work/personal trip to Europe, so flexibility and mobility were paramount in my luggage choice. I fit 2 pairs of pants, 1 pair leggings, 1 pair sweats, 3 long sleeve shirts, 1 cardigan, 1 dress, 1 blazer, 1 pair of ankle boots, socks and undergarments and my toiletries! You can fit a LOT if you’re smart. This bag will fit in a regional jet, as long as you don’t pack it too full! I used the included shoulder strap when I was navigating security, I had a second smaller backpack as my purse/personal item. The included strap isn’t particularly comfortable but I knew I wasn’t going to use it all the time anyway. When I was boarding the plane I had the strap put away and carried it like a suitcase, made it much easier and no straps flying around to whack anyone. After I got off the plane, pause for a moment, unzip, pull out the shoulder straps, rolled the cover up, and off I go! Waist band is not padded but this pack isn’t meant to be a hiking backpack, so it was fine. They’re adjustable and fit pretty well. I’m 5’2” for reference
Great for travel
I'm 5'8", lean build/small bust, and 135 lbs. I bought this shortly before an SEA-SFO-RDD flight. As noted by others, the outer mesh pockets won't hold a water bottle; mine fell on another woman when I lifted the backpack into the overhead bins! (Fortunately she was not injured or a lawyer!) The exception is loop top bottles IF you thread the strap through before buckling. The duffel style strap has no padding which is a tad uncomfortable when hauling between two distant gates, however I'm glad to have the option of carrying it that way as well as from the top handle, side handle, and backpack straps (zipped away during flights, very nice feature). I packed too many clothes, will cut down to 2 packed outfits next time and avoid heavy denim items; consequently that trip the backpack was heavier than it needed to be and didn't fit into the overhead bin on the little regional jet to RDD. That said, all the different carry options made it possible to womanhandle the extra weight, and the straps never interfered with my bust. I didn't always buckle the hip straps for short dashes, but they took pressure off my back when I did. I have had back pain in the past and I appreciate the comfort level this product gives me. It has enough internal organization to store toiletries, TSA-must-sees, and clothing separately, which I adore. I need a place for everything and everything in its place. Beautiful, well designed, sturdy backpack. I'm here to buy another for my sister. I look forward to taking mine on another trip with a lighter load.Worth every cent. Thank you!
