Rated5out of5byA YfromGood design and qualityVery simple, elegant design, straps can be adjusted to desired fitness. Took a walk for a few hours wearing the shoes the first time and did not have any feet problems.

Rated3out of5byjrsdavfromNearly perfect sandal, but poor qualityI've always been intrigued by Chacos and have wanted to own a pair, however I was never a huge fan of the gigantic/heavy soles on the Z series and found their high price a little deterring. When I saw the mighty sandal, I knew the time had come to bite the bullet and pick some up.
Initially, I wasn't disappointed at all. The fit was really comfortable and I felt confident wearing them in just about any terrain. The bottom of my feet suffered a bit until they toughened up, but that's to be expected with any sandal after a winter of wearing boots and thick wool socks.
However, I did notice that the footbed started to discolor immediately, leaving behind a yellow/brown foot imprint. Even washing them frequently couldn't undo the effects of staining. Also the footbed material/texture made my feet sweat more than usual, giving off a strong foot odor. Truthfully, these were more or less cosmetic annoyances that I didn't really concern myself with.
About two months into wearing them every day, I started to notice that the plastic around the heel straps had been cracking. I was a little shocked by this, as I expected these to last me at least 1 season, hopefully two, but at this rate they wouldn't even survive the summer. When a friend of mine bought the same pair and found his cracking in the same spot just one week into wearing them (and he had the same discolor/odor issues), we both decided to return them (REI has a great return policy!).
I ended up switching to the Z/1, which unfortunately just isn't the same (too heavy, and the front strap sits further back on my foot, even though it's the same size, so there is a lot of "talking" going on in the front). To the Z/1's credit though, they seem to be indestructible and I'm sure I'll have them for a long time.
I was really disappointed to give up this sandal. Like I said before, the fit and size was perfect. This is truly the sandal Chacos needs to focus on as their go-to product. They just don't seem to have the recipe for materials quite dialed in yet. If they thickened up the material around the heel strap and switched to the footbed used on the Z series(or at least made it black instead of grey or brown), I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair and give these a 5 start rating.
Until then, I'll keep wearing my Z/1's and watch out for future revisions of this style.

Rated4out of5byRayo84fromDance, Jump, Be Free: Lightweight ChacosI use these guys for standing at my desk all day, so they do have good arch support. I also use them for bumming around town, and I really like their lightweight when I come across a soccer-ball juggling circle or my dog decides it's time to run and jump.
I really like how lightweight they are while still offering the chaco support. The lacing system is also much easier to adjust than traditional chacos. These are a breeze to loosen and tighten and besides their loss of beefiness, the mighty is a great step forward for Chaco.
Caution: I don't wear them hiking in the desert because there isn't foot protection, and stones tend to get in very easily--which is to be expected with a sandal.
