I like these shoes. They're lightweight and comfortable, almost don't feel like they're there. I use them for walking and regular wear to work and have been very happy with them.
I received them first week of April and within about 5 weeks, noticed that the tread was separating from the sole around the ball of the foot. There was no sign of excessive wear.
Returned them (great return policy, REI!) for another pair. Hopefully I just received a bad pair. So long as the tread issue doesn't re-occur, I would recommend these.

I really wanted to LOVE these… I own the Merrell Trail Gloves and LOVE them, I just can't use them on pavement… After reading the other reviews I thought these would be the perfect fix. Unfortunately they were not. After a few weeks of running between 15-20 per week I took them back and purchased Brooks PureConnect 2 and have loved them! Save yourself the time and go directly to the Brooks!

While I'm not new to the brand, this is my first pair of Merrell shoes. This is also the first pair of minimalist shoes I've purchased and I'm hooked. I have odd feet that are wide with high arches and these shoes fit great. The outsoles are very tacky (and as a result can be noise when changing directions quickly) and fitment is very snug and comfortable.
I followed common sense and known rules for transitioning to barefoot running without any problems.

I'm a minamilist runner who was searching for a shoe with a little more protection as I have increased from 4-6 mile runs to runs up to 14 miles. Because of the increase in distance I have found a little of foot pain along the way with my extreme minimal shoes. These shoes resolved the foot pain I had and still give me the feel of running very minimal. Best of both worlds!!!!

I'm an avid barefoot Vibram trail runner, and am very picky about footwear.
I use this Merrell product as a daily walk-around shoe when I want a little padding / want to be lazy and not walk on the balls of my feet. It has a much more comfortable feel than the Trail Glove did, and feels like it has better lateral stability on pavement.
These leave me feeling connected to the ground and yet still comfortable enough to walk on hard surfaces & work on my feet all day (film industry).

Other then the fact they ran about a half size to big when I ordered online. I love the shoe and it fits my running needs. I've ran a couple miles a day for the past few weeks and they are holding up great. My feet stay dry which is a plus.
