    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Marmot Kompressor Plus Packis rated4.3333out of5by15.
Rated4out of5byfromExcellent Ultra Light OptionThis pack does it for me for several reasons: 1. High quality workmanship 2. Stowability 3. Very low tare weight 4. Comfortable fit 5. Perfect cargo area size I was concerned that not having a big hip belt or sturdier back pad might make this uncomfortable; but after several day hikes - it's a perfect answer to getting ultra light weight with something that actually feels goods. Other options were either too flimsy or had no versatile features. I've tried it out in backpacking trips to the Smokies and it's perfect for summit/day hikes if you don't want to bring your big pack. I bought it for trips to the Rockies this summer since it packs down so small into my carry-on bag. It does ride a little higher than "regular" day packs; but it didn't have any negative effects on my shoulders. Great product that seems to be an option otherwise not readily available.

Rated5out of5byfromLight weight, tough and looks good tooI wanted a super light weight top opening backpack with the minimal amount of straps, buckles or pockets. The Marmot Kompressor fits the ticket! Super light weight material, straps in the right places to cinch down the load and a large opening in the top. The thin yet fairly rigid liner that separates the load from your back adds just the right amount of support to keep the Kompressor from being flimsy. It even has a hydration pouch! I like the shoulder straps. They have just the right amount of material to be supportive yet still minimalist. My only complaint is the lid. It doesn't cover the top well. The large opening has a cinch cord so nothing falls out but the top should stay in place better. It has a large zipper pocket but if you put anything in it the top flops around. I wanted less of everything but I have to admit… this could have used two buckles instead of one. It has one exterior mesh pocket with a center zipper that is good for small items. I find it more useful than the top pocket. Overall, I would recommend this backpack. I really like it and use it daily.

Rated4out of5byfromVery Pleased with the KompressorReally liked the pack. Though intended for light day packing (lunch, raingear, fleece, etc) I overloaded the pack for a week while at the BSA Jamboree. My kit included ear muffs a small tool kit, lunch, water bladder, rain gear and a first aid kit needed while working at the rifle range. The seams held well, no stress pops. The pack straps were comfortable and the pack seemed to find the sweet spot on my back. I would only recommend a little better sinching mechanism for the water bladder.

Rated4out of5byfromGreat for schoolI purchased this for my 10 yr old for a school back pack. I was tired of the disposable stuff they push at back to school time and as he roughes it with me camping I wanted a light pack for him to carry his gear. This has been perfect for both duties. He likes the no zipper large compartment with the tough but lightweight material and the fact that orange is is favorite color iced the deal. I'll report back on how well it stands up throught the school/camping season. I'll give 5 stars if it survives the year.

Rated3out of5byfromNice but didn't fit me.I purchased this as a day pack for hiking to replace an ancient one with a broken zipper. It appeared to be made well and is really light and compressible. I thought it would be great to stuff in luggage for air travel. I'm 5'3" and I couldn't get it adjusted enough to be comfortable. I think it would be great for a taller person. I had to return it and spend the $$ on a women specific osprey pack, which I love.

Rated4out of5byfromNice, light, straight-forward daypackI wanted a lightweight day pack for day tripping: hiking, letterboxing, geocaching, et c. Nothing big, bulky, complicated or expensive. I looked at a number of packs and did a lot of comparison shopping. I was drawn to the Marmot Kompressor, it has everything I was looking for except mesh water bottle pockets. I've used my un-insulated water bladders in winter successfully MOST times but I do like having the option to use a water bottle or two if I can't keep the mouthpiece or tube from icing. It appears to be well constructed and is the most comfortable day pack I have owned. Overall I'm happy with it and would recommend it without hesitation.
