The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
REI Igneo Long Shorts - Men'sis rated4.5out of5by12.
Rated5out of5byAllBrofromGreat Shorts -This is a great pair of shorts for everyday use, plus walking, hiking, etc. The only complaint that I have is that there is no color selection. These should come in a wider array of colors such as olive green, tan, etc. Also, these would be great in full-length slacks.

Rated5out of5byJasonQfromExcellent shorts for active tall guysI'm 6'7", so finding hiking shorts that are long enough is not easy, but these shorts fit perfectly! The flexible/stretchy material makes these long shorts great for hiking and riding bike. I'm loving these shorts so much I wear them to work and hang out, too.
The only negative is that I was surprized at how long they took to dry.

Rated4out of5byMisshapen PancakesfromLove the fit, hate the pocketsI love the fit and the material (just enough stretch). The longer length is nice for those of us with a tendency to be a little less graceful than average and bang our knees into things. However, the color is hard to match anything to--it's kind of a mix between olive green and brown. Maybe if I were female I'd have six different tops that would go with it, but I struggle with this one. "Well, white t-shirt it is!" The biggest flaw is the hand pockets, though. They invert whenever you take anything out...your hands, your phone, keys, you name it. They need to have a little bit of sewing to anchor them to the shorts, or something.
I'd still buy them again, just because of the fit and the length. Usually I fall between waist sizes 32 and 33 amd up with shorts that are either too tight or too loose. I got the medium size, and they are absolutely perfect.

Its genious putting zippered cargo pockets where these are because whether I'm cycling, driving or sitting on a crowded sofa, I can easilly get to my phone, wallet or whatever.
NOTE TO THE REI BUYERS:
More colors needed, start by adding a light sand and a coffee color AND make a pant version and I'll buy every one of them too!

Rated4out of5byLonestarfromGood shorts - Good weight - Great LengthThese are nice shorts. They are lightweight flexible. Best of all they are a perfect length for taller people. The waist size felt a bit bigger than a true 32" waist.
My only complaint is the hip and back pocket liners are made of a very lightweight mesh. This allows bulky items like keys, or phones to twist and turn the pocket liner requiring constant readjustment if you are active.

Rated4out of5byRoaminfromexcellent for recumbent cyclingI purchased primarily for recumbent cycling for sun protection of top of thighs and knees. The length is perfect for this as pant legs reach to middle of my knees. Material is smooth and doesn't chafe. The cargo pocket location on top of thighs also works well for this use. A lighter color choice would rate a fifth star because dark fabric is hot in the sun.

Rated4out of5byJets Like TaxisfromGreat shorts, need more colors...I love the color, the way these fit, and the two zipped front/side pockets. It's nice to find a longer pair of shorts - the inseam is around 14" - in a sea of shorts that are simply way too short.
I like mine to fit below the knee and these fit the bill. They're also water-resistant and stain-repelling.
My biggest pet peeves are:
1) There's only one back pocket on the right side. I always find that awkward and think they should have put pockets on both sides.
2) They need more colors. I'd buy more if they offered more than one colourway.
Can't have it all, I guess! If you're looking for a nice, longer pair of shorts that can hang with all the fancy brands, these are the ones you want. Not baggy and just the right length.
Now, can we get more colors (and maybe the missing back pocket), please? :)

Rated4out of5bytaybaymanfromGreat Climbing ShortsI wear these when its too hot for my Prana Zion pants. They are long so they cover a lot of the knee. The spandex in the material makes them stretch. This is a huge plus for climbing. The nylon makes them breathable too. I will definitely use them for hiking as well.
The pockets are a little unique. Instead of having two large cargo pockets on the side, these shorts have two smaller pockets on the front of the leg. I personally like the placement.
Overall a great pair of shorts if you're looking for something to climb or hike in when its getting warm.
