I've had a series of different tools for my backcountry adventures. This one is PERFECT.

It has all I need and the clip ensures that it's always hanging right at the top inside of one of my pack pockets. Never seem to lose this one unlike the others which always went to the bottom and eventually lost.

Comments about Leatherman Style CS Multitool:

I went looking for a new lighter weight multi-tool to replace my ginormous, heavy Swiss Army multi-tool. I really thought about what I found most useful, for me that's a small knife blade and a decent pair of scissors. My primary needs are to be able to cut through seal-a-meal food bags, trim first aid supplies, and any other minor blade needs. After looking at everyting at REI, this was what I chose. It's small without being unusably so (for reference, it's the size of a standard full-sized cigarette lighter when closed. The scissors work very well and are sturdy, and you don't have to open the whole thing up to use the knife blade. I think it's very well designed from a functional standpoint and priced right.

This Leatherman is perfect for the backcountry. It is tiny, light, has the essentials for a long backpacking trip and nothing extra that you don't need. The carabiner is perfect, clips right into place in my pack so I can find it every time (and opens a beer at the end of my hike!). This is my 3rd leatherman, and each one has been perfect for their application.
