I love the style of the boot and was excited to have a new pair of boots that would keep my feet warm when I go ice fishing, and still be stylish to wear around town during the cold winter months in MN.

The first time I wore them out ice fishing was in Northern MN and it was a relatively warm day (lows in the mid-teens), a lot of time ice fishing is spent in the shack which is heated. My feet were freezing the entire day! I had on two pairs of warm socks (smartwool), and had to take the boots off multiple times to put my feet by the heater to warm up. By the time we were dragging the sled off the lake back to the truck (about a 20min walk) I couldn't feel my feet and was afraid that I was walking on my curled up toes--they were completely numb. The boots are rated to -25F or -40F depending on which site you find them, but they did NOT keep my feet warm even at +20F. I am not one of those "freeze babies" either. The rest of my body including my hands and ears were just fine, it was ONLY my feet. I've had Sorel's in the past and loved them, but would recommend staying away from this boot if you are looking for a boot to keep your feet warm when adventuring in MN weather or something like it...

Honestly, I love the Sorel brand. This is the first of many Sorel shoes I have purchased and I am so glad I did. I wanted a shoe to put on after snowboarding that would not only keep my feet warm, but also keep them dry. This boot covers both. It even says that it will keep them warm in -25 degree weather (I haven't dared to try this yet...). Overall a good shoe. If you're like me, you will be checking out the Sorel website first. All the reviews I saw said to go down a whole size. I only went down 1/2 size... My advice, try on at REI before ordering them online.
